Subtle Scandinavian Colors with Weather Plaids from

While most people believe Scandinavian design is all about white, the reality is that Scandinavian design is about soft minimalism that embraces nature and it’s palette. Therefore it is very common to see colors, even bright booming ones in a Scandinavian home. Nordic Tales is a company I particularly love and their designs are very close to my style. You might remember it from my post here about their beautiful Bright Sprout lights. They were more than generous to send me two of their soft Weather Plaids in sundown/fall, dawn/winter color combinations in virgin wool. They are very soft and warm, something that is so welcomed now in winter in Norway, but even more importantly for a interior blogger, they look great draped in just about anything including myself. Even right now I have one around my shoulders warming me up while I enjoy a cup of hot chocolate on a snowy day. Winter can’t get better than this.Follow me on Instagram | Pinterest | Twitter | Facebook | Bloglovin | Feedly▲© 2013-2014 ONLYDECOLOVE.COMALL RIGHTS RESERVEDPhotographs taken by Katerina Dima unless otherwise stated.

Beautiful Snow

Soft snow is falling out of my window since I woke up today. I couldn’t help but step out for a few minutes with a cup of hot chocolate and inadvertently my camera, so I could share with you my view. I am not a very summery person although I should really say I am just not into horrible temperatures when it comes to heat. Here in Norway there is a saying. There is no bad weather just bad clothing (roughly translated), so I will take cold anytime over heat when it comes to being outdoors. In fact, I can think of nothing better right now than armoring up with my new thermal undergarments plus training gear and head out for a brisk walk. I love Kari Traa undergarments 100% merino wool, Nike running tights and Nike 4.0 running shoes . Then I only need to accessorize with gloves scarf and a beanie and I am ready to go! There are so many options for those I have at least 3 drawers dedicated to them in any color combination.See you later!Follow me on Instagram | Pinterest | Twitter | Facebook | Bloglovin | Feedly▲© 2013-2014 ONLYDECOLOVE.COMALL RIGHTS RESERVEDPhotographs taken by Katerina Dima unless otherwise stated.

Ultimate Ears : Boom Boom Boom

Can you spot one of my favorite new pieces for my home office as of now?Hint : It is portable and purple. And honestly I take it with me everywhere. The UE BOOM from Ultimate Ears  is a Bluetooth portable speaker that perfectly fits my hands and my lifestyle. The sound is great and even though when it comes to speakers it is usually where their strength lies, UE BOOM surprised me with its ease of use, great design and versatility. It was almost impossible to choose between the many color combinations that it comes, but Orchid won me over.I switch it on first thing in the morning for my morning music (conveniently it will also double as an alarm clock when you use the app on your smartphone) and immediately head over to the kitchen to make coffee and breakfast. Morning shower after? The Boom is fully waterproofed. Skiing or any outdoors activity with friends is now guaranteed to be filled with music with its 15 hour lasting battery. And speaking of batteries, you can just pop the Boom open and replace its Li-ion batteries at any time if you feel they are dropping low.I have wanted this little amazing speaker for a long time now and I cant get enough of it. As I am typing this Ultimate Ears is launching MegaBoom, a larger version of my beloved Boom. How soon do you think it will take before I double up my Boom with its bigger brother in Plum? For now the Boom is sitting comfortably at the very same place as you see in the photos.Until I need to move away from it in which case I will carry it with me even though its sound travels around our whole two storey house.(This post is sponsored. Grey Living Room

There was a lot of snow last few days and everything outside is a beautiful crisp white. Inside however everything is a muted grey. The way I like it for winter. In Norway during winter you have to make your own light, candles and extra table lamps help a lot in creating a cozy and warm atmosphere. Since yesterday Nina storm passed by, today everyone is enjoying the warmth of their houses. I find myself enjoying my stress free Sunday perusing through blogs and shops for either home decoration or winter outfits and accessories. How cute is this Roxy bag? And about 80% off. I wish they would ship worldwide! Follow me on Instagram | Pinterest | Twitter | Facebook | Bloglovin | Feedly▲© 2013-2014 ONLYDECOLOVE.COMALL RIGHTS RESERVEDPhotographs taken by Katerina Dima unless otherwise stated.

On my Office desk

I love an organized mess on my desk. It makes me feel even more creative. There is a big difference from messy mess and organized mess however! Having a stacking place for anything that doesn’t fit and things that are supposed to be together is a really creative way to achieve this. I use a rubber metalic tree to hold things like my earphones or anything that can hang, and then vases and different pots to hold pencils, papers etc. that usually clutter the office space but still need to be at close hand. It doesn’t come as a surprise then that the contents of  Designer Box N°18 would fit perfectly on my desk as well.TSERETNIP (Pinterest spelled backwards) is a little portable gallery made of cork that allows you to pin on it anything you feel like displaying or having at close hand.Inspired by the trend of virtual pinning, designer FW Balléry imagined Tseretnip, an object to be discovered. You can find TSERETNIP in Designer Box N°18. Each designerbox is an exclusive unreleased object created by a designer and made only for one month, for subscribers. I can’t wait to see what is inside N°19!Follow me on Instagram | Pinterest | Twitter | Facebook | Bloglovin | Feedly▲© 2013-2014 ONLYDECOLOVE.COMALL RIGHTS RESERVEDPhotographs taken by Katerina Dima unless otherwise stated.

Home Gallery and a Giveaway

I love photography, this much I think is evident to anyone reading my blog for a while. And if there is anything I love even more, is printing photos and displaying them around the house.I usually use my trusty printer to do just that as many of you have already seen in various posts. From inspirational walls to just adding a frame here or there, I believe this is the most simple and elegant way to style a corner, especially if you are in the mood for a change.MemoriesLab is an Online Boutique Print Studio & Gallery that will print (among others) 12 or 24 of your favorite photos in a polaroid format and deliver them to you in the most unique packaging. I love products that pay attention to their packaging, to me it shows how much love and effort they put into them and therefore it ensures in my mind the delivery of good quality. The materials used for your printed photos are beautifully bound by a silky kind of fabric that feels luxurious and timeless. I created a little gallery of my own photos in my walk in closet and I love the effect it has in the room! MemoriesLab has given me three codes to share with three of my readers for a package of 12 prints each as seen above! All you need to do is comment down below with your email address.I will pick randomly 3 winners on January 18 and announce the names the day after. (You will get to choose your own photos to use.)This giveaway will also run on my Instagram so feel free to comment there as well for double the chance!Good luck :)Follow me on Instagram | Pinterest | Twitter | Facebook | Bloglovin | Feedly▲© 2013-2014 ONLYDECOLOVE.COMALL RIGHTS RESERVEDPhotographs taken by Katerina Dima unless otherwise stated.

New in my Living Room : Design Letters and Voluspa Candles

It really feels great to be back home.I have been spending my days unpacking and organizing and with the added Christmas gifts I feel I  need a new house to fit everything. Until the time comes, creating corners to display your favorite things and gain some extra space is ideal. I used my Design Letters side table beside the couch and it fits my Kubus , a small container for cords and my new Voluspa candle in crisp champagne perfectly. And there is still space for the occasional phone or book or anything that I might want to temporarily place there. In addition this specific little side table is so easy to move around by using its handle I find it ideal for my living room. The Voluspa candle was a gift from my boyfriends sisters for Christmas ( along with a full set of Muuto dots that you will get to see as soon as I put them up! ) and I have honestly fallen in love with it. It burns for 50 hours and I don’t think it will last me for more than a few days at this rate. The aroma is wonderful even when it’s not lit. This is my first Voluspa candle and I simply adore it so I will be definitely be purchasing more of it! ( There are no affiliate links in this post. Feeling Nostalgic of Home

As the time draws near to finally return to Norway I get even more nostalgic about my new home. While not everything is as ordered and magically clean as they may seem in my photographs, I still sorely miss everything that make my place stylish and homey at the same time. One thing I am sad I am missing is all the Christmas decorations and plans I had in mind that cannot take place this year due to the simple fact I will be arriving a day before Christmas. One of my most favorite ( and new for me ) Christmas traditions is exchanging gifts. It is so hard sometimes choosing gifts for your loved ones though and as years go by, I find myself running out of options for things to buy them that don’t repeat each other. So this year I have scoured the internet and all places I could find in order to make gift lists for you (and myself) to get inspired so keep an eye for my next post!I will leave you with some photos of my home office which is where I wish I was typing this right now. I am asked a lot where the golden vase is from, the pink tea light holder and the light balls so check at the end of the post for details about them! 1. Jungle coffee corner

What I wouldn’t give to be back at my peaceful home right now and my coffee corner.
I have plans on expanding it as soon as I return to Norway and so right now I am perusing old photos so I can get ideas on how to make it work. Incidentally  the plant since taking this photo has grown so much it is now dangling completely off the candle-holders. I love this jungle feel though so I will need to recreate it eventually.
Speaking of time passing,I feel horrible for not posting as much but I promise as soon as I am done with my presentation and my degree and get back to Norway there will be more updates than ever :)
Got to get back to work now!
Have a great week!

Pink tones in my Bedroom

I can’t help but decorate my bedroom extra feminine while I am in Greece and I am not sharing it with my boyfriend. Although he never complains I would never want him to be uncomfortable so this is my free reign of experimentation that cannot affect him. It is good to get it out of my system although I am pretty sure by the time I return to Norway I will have sorely missed all my color and styling choices there! Time to go back to studying , hope you have a great week everyone!

Bright Sprouts in my Home Office

A few weeks ago I received these beautiful pendant lights called Bright Sprouts from Nordic Tales
Nordic Tales is the tale of small and great ideas that get a chance to be a part of the Scandinavian design tradition. It’s a vision of creating a modern design company where designer and product go hand in hand from sketch to final design and further into the retail stores. It’s the story of young talents, who have a passion for cool design and a wish to make a small change. Their products range from the Bright sprouts pendant lights to framed racks for clothes and a mirror to go with, office desk  and beautiful plaids to name a few.
My love for pendant lights is quite obvious and I have to admit I have had my eye on this beautiful pendants for a long long time. I find their design so appealing especially connected with my beloved Scandinavian style. The wires are dressed in fabric and it comes in so many colors making very difficult to choose! If that wasn’t enough you can customize the body as well choosing between 3 different treated oak wood natural, soaped and oiled and smoked. For above my office I chose red with natural oak and yellow with oiled and smoked wood. I have so many more combinations to show you though so stay tuned! Even though in these photos my lamps were not yet connected I promise you the light that is emitted is very special and it needs a whole blogpost on it own :)
The packaging is equally beautiful, the lamp itself comes in a reusable multifaceted box with leather strings and the canvas tote bag with their logo is so good looking you can see it in different parts of my house used as extra storage space.
I have fallen in love with these beautiful lights and you can be sure to see them lying or hanged around in many places in my house in the future!

Quick update!

Hello everyone!
Yes I know I haven’t been posting lately but I promise I will be back to business as usual as soon I return back home to Norway :)
For now I am going to fill you in with some news about what I have been doing lately and links so do read on if you are interested!
As you already know I am still in Greece finishing my degree and I don’t think I have had a moments of peace and quiet until today. I was expecting the presentation to be mid to end of November but I just found out yesterday that it’s actually late October! Bummer. I have been planning to do a lot of things in between but now I have literally only time for studying. Good news however is that I will be back home a month earlier so hey not everything is as bad as it seems!
I have been knitting before I sleep as a way to relax and I am loving it! I started with this amazing stitch that is so beautiful and easy called Raspberry or Trinity Stitch. If you know how to knit the link is a Youtube video and it’s how I learned how to do it myself! The pot looks amazing don’t you think?
While here I have been busy with some interviews so if you want to know more about my style and my home you can check both! So click below for each one and you get bonus points for spotting  photos I have yet to post on my blog :)
Lovely Marta made a feature about me at iBoligen.dk and although it’s in Finnish google translator works amazingly for those that don’t know the language! Thank you Marta for translating and featuring me!
⏩ I answered questions also for lovely Tara and you can read the interview at estMagazine and this one is in English. Thank you sweet Tara for featuring me as well!
I can’t wait to get back to Norway and now that the first shock of earlier presentation has set in I am so excited to be back so much sooner than I originally expected! Here’s to looking forward to Xmas holidays hopefully this time with 10 times as much snow as last year!
I will leave you with some snaps from my Instagram, I am very much active there for those that wish to have regular updates about me!

Design Letters in my Bedroom

As a lot of you know I am spending a few more weeks in Greece and thus staying in my parents home. For the time I will be staying here I had to change rooms and say goodbye to the custom beautiful build in shelves I had created (as viewed here) and move to a different room. I loved my old premises but I saw this as a wonderful opportunity for a change. I thought it would be a great way to test sleeping in new colors and since I am alone here why not create a soft feminine pastel environment? I haven’t grown tired of white but a change is always welcome! I painted the walls a beautiful dirty pastel pink and I couldn’t be happier about it! Therefore as soon as I saw this months competition in NiB I knew my new bedroom would fit right in :)
(This will be my contribution to the NiB challenge!)
Onto the decoration itself!
Today I received in my mail a package I have been so excited and couldn’t wait for it to arrive.
I think you all know how much I love the Design Letters brand ( you can follow them on Facebook and on Instagram as well for exciting news), their products appear multiple times on my blog (here or here or here or here or here , I daresay there are too many links to include) and on my Instagram (here and here and here for example). So how can I not be impatient when I know a big Design Letters package was traveling my way?
A little background on the brand, Design Letters is a Danish Design Company that has introduced first wooden letters, then porcelain cups, plates, vases teapots etc with a typography hand drawn in 1937 by the world renowned Danish Architect Arne Jacobsen.
Before I even started blogging I was feverishly trying to find where I could buy a cup like the ones I was seeing in all the Nordic blogs with my initial on. It didn’t take me long time before I found out about Design Letters and their products and they have been one of my favorites every since then.
After I came to Greece I have suffered from loss of space since I had to change rooms. My new bedroom is a little smaller than the previous one  when it comes to one of its side and for some time now I have been looking for the perfect night stand that wouldn’t take too much space. The Design Letters Table to Go fits perfectly beside my bed plus you can pick it up from its handle and transport it anywhere with ease! I can’t wait to get this back to Norway, it will look great in my living room beside the couch! Another little touch is the Television Mirror that I hang above it, perfect to get a glimpse of yourself! All in all this just became my favorite corner to sit and drink my tea in the afternoon!

Sunday Mood : 20 Facts About Me

What can be better than a Sunday morning in bed? With hot chocolate and whatever relaxes you. I made a “20 facts about me tag” on Instagram and I thought I would share it on my blog as well. I have to warn you though it is not your typical list. In fact I hardly enjoy reading such lists since I mostly find them completely unimaginative. I mean if you include on your 20 facts that you love life or that you love your family I gather that you are either an insanely boring person or you had to make this list at gunpoint.
Scroll down for a few facts about me that you might not know! And yes I do love life and my family and my cat and I love to be happy and for the world to have peace
 Who doesn’t??

1. I am not a morning person. At all. Therefore I love living in Norway during winter.
2. I am not a coffee person either. All the coffees I post on Instagram are 5% coffee and 95% milk-foam-cream-flavor-syrup-chocolate-nutella-ice cream, in short anything that will make it look smell and taste like a dessert.
3. It should come as no surprise that my absolute favorite drink is chocolate. If you want to offer me something I can’t say no to just give me a hot chocolate. Enters my Tassimo for a quick type of machine vendor chocolate. It is the first thing I search in hotels if they happen to have one.
4. Of course I love hotels. But I prefer small family ones 40 rooms tops. Few of my favorite hotels are chateaux in rural UK. If I could live in a hotel for half the year I would be just as happy as someone living in their dream house.
5. I have never been camping and I don’t think I will like it. I mean I just said I love hotels. I am all about comfort. You could trick me into a night of being out and about but you have to promise me I will sleep comfortably.
6. I just finished watching Once upon a time.I firmly believe they should have wrapped the show on season three. Will watch the new episodes regardless.
7. I am a huge fan of Apple products but I don’t own an iMac or MacBook.Yet. It is mainly because Autocad didn’t work on Macs for a long time so I started off with Windows pcs instead. Now that it does I see no reason why not go Mac. As soon as my laptop dies!
8. I used to have an iPad and I didn’t see the point when iPad mini came out.I fell in love with it when I held it on my hands and since then we are inseparable.
9. I hate that the new iPhones are getting bigger.I love stashing my phone in my back pocket and I need it to be small.
10. I spend half of my morning in bed watching what’s in my bag YouTube videos and night routines. My iPad run out of battery.
11. Speaking of which I try to clean my face with my Clarisonic ( Mia 2 in pink) every night.Total times I used it last 14days? Zero. At this point I have to tell you that it does work however, its an absolute miracle for cleaning pores. I am just lazy and don’t use it as much as I should.
 12. Which leads me to believe all these night routines videos are all fake.I can barely wash my face and brush my teeth, are you actually telling me you spend an hour cleaning your face before you sleep?
13. I do realize however that we can’t stay young forever therefore I started training rather intensely.
14. My best friend is an amazing personal trainer and she is trying her best to put me in the right path.
15. I think I drifted away when I ate about half a chocolate cake yesterday. Remember what I said earlier about chocolate?
16. I love chocolate. Of any kind in any form. If you don’t just unfollow me right now.
17. I also love Chinese take out. The dirtier the better.Sorry Jamie Oliver I dont think your Chow Mein is better than my dirty take out. It is good for what it is. A healthier version of it. But right now I dont go for healthy when it comes to chinese take out.
18. I love meat probably more than chocolate. Savory or sweet? Savory all the way. I think I say that because I know I can eat a dessert after lunch however. If you take this choice away I might not have an answer to this question.
 19. I always carry mints and caramels in my bag. My favorite flavor for caramels is butter.
20. I don’t always carry a bag. In fact I mostly don’t.

Hope you had a great Sunday!

Dining Chairs Roundtable – Hay.Vitra.Muuto.

Muuto | Hay | Vitra

My favorite dining chairs. This post is more of a reminder for me than anything else. I am planning on buying new dining chairs and these are the ones I mainly have my eye on. I love all the colors exactly as seen above. I think mixing them up and not getting four of the same will look even better as well! I know a lot of people are using the Eames DSW from Vitra and of course so do I, but since I moved to Norway all the Nordic designs are resonating with me so much. It is therefore inevitable to love the Visu Chairs by Muuto and About a Chair by Hay as well!
Tough choices ahead, especially when the array of colors and fabrics are so great.
Which ones would you choose?

Dining Chairs Conundrum

For a while now I have wanted to change our living room TV ( I have my eye on this white Samsung) but I can’t possibly warrant such a change when the current one is working flawlessly. And even more since there are other priorities like getting some dining chairs to replace our old ones.
Four Eames DSW would be amazing but I would love to mix them up with two About a Chair by Hay. It would make the whole set up more affordable and also give it a little bit more character as well. For now I can only plan from afar and miss the cozy times I spend on my sofa cuddling with a soft blanket while re-watching The Tudors.

Do you have any shows that you keep re-watching? :)

Normann Copenhagen Wishlist

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5
This is what happens when I browse one of  my favorite brands store Normann Copenhagen
I end up wanting to buy everything and as a consolation I make up an affordable wishlist and everytime I get one of those objects it just makes my day (or even my week). Top on my list is the lovely new mortar and marble pestle. How can you not love it?

Silent Vase from Muuto finally you’re mine!

Its funny how something can be on your wishlist for ages before you actually get it. Even if its something not really expensive or not even hard to find in any kind of way. One of these things is the Silent Vase from Muuto. It comes in two different sizes and a selection of colors but I have had my eye on the large and clear version for a long time and I am so happy it’s finally home! Isn’t it a beauty? I love how it complements my minimal living room but I love more how delicate flowers or leaves look in it. I want nothing more than to get the small pink version of it and I hope it wont take me as long this time around :)
Hope you have a great week!

In my Bedroom

New things are making their way into my old bedroom in an attempt to make it more homey.
I had to move from my previous space so no more shelves for me! I am going to be spending some weeks here but since it’s my last long stay in Greece I am trying to enjoy it as much as I can  and having to change my accommodations doesn’t really bother me at all :)

How do you like the Muuto dots as a hanging solution next to my bed? Or the beautiful Bright Sprout pendant Nordic Tales send to me a few days ago? I love the subtle red cord it gives a bit of color that my grey white bedroom needs! It was so hard to choose between colors, the pendant is completely customization with a variety of colors for the cords and wooden bodies but that’s a story for another day , very soon I promise!

Hope everyone is having a great week!

(This post is sponsored by Nordic Tales. All opinions are my own)

Gearing up for Winter

I am gearing up for winter. Can you tell? My living room tones turn more grey and neutral, there are blankets and sheepskins everywhere and candles to add to the evening cozy mood.
Even though it is not nearly as cold yet I can’t help myself. My latest additions in the mix are blankets and a storage round basket made of some sort of iron material all from Bohus.
Are you getting into winter mode yet or you are trying to prolong summer as much as possible?

Press Release : MUUTO

via Muuto
While travelling today I got a happy surprise in my mailbox and I couldn’t wait to land (I absolutely love Norwegian having free wi-fi on flight) to be able to share it with you as well!
The new fiber chair, designed by Iskos-Berlin for Muuto, is an all-round chair, made of a new innovative shell material of recyclable plastic and wood fibers. With an eye for detail, every line and every curve has been designed to balance maximum comfort with minimum space. With a vast palate of shell colors, premium upholstery and leather options, and four different bases, there is a Fiber Chair for any dining room, desk, conference hall, auditorium, or office.
There are also more beautiful new products as well, such as beautiful credenzas and a new table model.
Everything is designed, produced and photographed to perfection.
I am absolutely in love with them already, aren’t you?

My new Coffee and Chocolate maker – Tassimo Vs Nespresso

For a while now I have been toying with the idea of getting another coffee machine that I could use when I wanted something different than the coffee the Nespresso brews, while at the same time put no extra effort into it. I did a little research and I ended up leaning towards the Tassimo  mostly for its variety in chocolate and tea drinks. I bought the Tassimo T20 model since I didn’t care for the water filter and I liked that it came in white and in different other fun extra color skins!
The Tassimo has exceeded our expectations and we are very happy that we ended up getting it. I want to be clear and state that if you want a good cup of coffee and you appreciate its aroma and you want to have that experience then maybe either get the Nespresso or an actual espresso machine. If you have the time and the patience to brew your own espresso and froth your milk then by all means do just that, the Tassimo is in no way superior in making a cappuccino. If you want to mix your own chocolate, melt it, make your own caramel syrup and create an amazing 500kcal hot chocolate again you should do just that. The beauty of the Tassimo is that you can have a hot frothy chocolate that tastes just like it came out from a vendor machine with less than 90kcal a cup and in just two moves. I love those machines, I always end up circling them in hotels if they have them. My favorite is our own Freia for Tassimo, very rich and tiny bit salty. No guilt, easy and quick cup of amazing hot chocolate. A lot of people complain about the quantity, I found it just right. With the addition of the milk capsule it makes a generous cup. When it comes to the coffees again the quality of them is exactly what you would expect from a vendor machine. If you like that then you will be very happy with the Tassimo. I am already loving the Latte Caramel Macchiato and to my surprise so is my boyfriend as well! Even if you are a strict coffee loving person you can enjoy the quality Tassimo offers.
We already own a Nespresso,a great Moccamaster coffee machine and a Bodum Columbia coffee maker. Lets just say that we didn’t get the Tassimo expecting it to fill all our coffee needs. We got it because we wanted sometimes a change in what coffee we drink but without the fuss. The Tassimo does just that and we couldn’t be happier.I only wish we could get the variety the US store has!
I hope this post will be helpful to people that don’t know what to do when it comes to buying a coffee machine. As for me, I am going to make my second cup of Freia hot chocolate for the day ;)

Scenes from my Home

Things are very quiet around here and I couldn’t be happier. Tonight our plans are after an afternoon hike to return home for a movie , chocolate covered strawberries I made just an hour ago and champagne.

You don’t need it to be a special day in order to plan a nice afternoon for yourself and the people you love.
In fact, it’s these moments that make our life better.
I wish everyone has an amazing afternoon whatever you do!
