New techie addition in the house

// Sponsored post in collaboration with Sony. All opinions are my own.

Some of you might have seen this already on my instagram or snapchat but a couple of weeks ago Sony send me a Bluetooth wireless speaker to try out. I already have a Bluetooth speaker I am extremely satisfied with but it was the Sony’s shape that won me over at first glance. It matches perfectly my interior and merges almost seamlessly with my styling at home. Perfect for the living room when I want to listen to my favorite tunes. The sound is quite large as well for such a small speaker and the battery holds for at least 10 hours, all in all, quite happy with my little new addition!

Get the look with ByLassen Frames, Normann Copenhagen minitature chairs and Skandinavisk mini candles.

February’s Favorites : Curated by Only Deco Love

I am always particularly indecisive as to when I should post my favorites. Should it be at the end of the month or its beginning? Is it a list of “would love to buy this month” therefore I will budget for it, or rather what I loved the month that passed?  Today the list represents both for the month February and the month March ,which is my birthday month so this might be a wishlist as well :) I have to say that every single piece from the photo above stands out to me, I would love any for my home! From top to bottom :
Rimm flowerpots from ByLassen
Tableware from Broste Copenhagen
Golden set of Cutlery from Bloomingville
Linen washed pillow from Village
Belly Basket from Bloomingville
Urna Vase from Marimekko

By Lassen News in my Living Room

// Sponsored post in collaboration with byLassen. All opinions are my own.

I have have had the By Lassen Frames (mine in light and dark grey color) for some time now, and I have wanted to make a post about them for a while. However I decided to paint a wall black and hang them there, and although the result in real life is great, unfortunately it just doesn’t photograph well at all. The wall is covered with a wallpaper that I painted over but it has a texture that reflects the light in the most unfaltering way when it comes to shooting it. You can see a preview on my instagram here, I love how this corner looks but I will need to remove the old wallpaper, and start over again. If you were wondering why until now I never revealed this project, now you know what happened.
It is a shame not to officially introduce them however, so until I remade their proper corner I moved some of them next to my couch for extra storage and some downstairs as bedside tables. They looked so great however that I decided to leave them there and instead invest in a Twin Bookcase , I think it will fit perfectly. But if I am painting the wall again, I have in mind an amazing blue that might be an ever better spring and summer choice. If you have any ideas feel free to share them in the comment section below!

New additions to my home office

For a long time I have wanted to add some extra storage at my office corner at home, and I always knew I wanted to start with adding some shelves on the wall first. I finally decided on a string system but on the top of my office desk the space is limited due to the small width, so a pocket string was the best solution. After I put my pocket up I knew I could add more to it, so I have already ordered a second one to expand on the first. Now I am wondering what to add under the desk for extra storage or on the side, a Hay bookcase comes to mind, but I will have to sleep on it. I know that when I connect my Macbook to the monitor however there is not much space left on the desk for many more things, so I definitely need something to rest the Mac on, while it is still close enough to the screen. It looks as if there is a lot of space, however when I move my mouse I bump on my mug, while on the left side I can barely have my phone and notebook in between the keyboard and the Mac. It is definitely cozy, but I would rather it was also more practical, so more solutions are coming soon to facilitate that. I will be taking photos for a blogpost soon, however you can find daily updates on my Instagram if you don’t want to wait for a proper post and also for many photos I never post on my blog! :)

Spring News from By Lassen

Every season my mailbox  explodes with news from my favorite brands, I am always excited when I open them, it is great to see how trends are formed and evolve at the same time depending on the season! Today I am more than happy to present you with some of my favorite pieces of the By Lassen Spring news. Are you ready?

If you read my blog you already know how much I love the Kubus Candleholders from By Lassen, and now for spring they are also available in a Nikel-plated version! I loved the brass version for the winter and this is no exception, I would love to have a pair of these as well.

What is spring without flowers and greens? I was more than happy to find out that By Lassen just launched their first line of pots and they look amazing! I love how the curves meet with a strict line, minimalism meets with earthy materials and the result is truly stunning. The Rimm flowerpots come in 3 colors and various sizes, it will be hard for me to pick my favorite.

The most anticipated item for me was one I was lucky enough to see in an early preview and I am so happy I can finally share it with you today. The Twin bookcase is so elegant, I think for now it is my favorite piece of the whole By Lassen line of products. It will not be long before you will see it in almost every house and apartment for sale, just mark my words. It comes in various sizes and in two colors, it is a timeless piece of furniture that will become a classic.

Stelton Theo Stoneware – Slow Brewed Coffee methods

// Sponsored post in collaboration with Stelton.I was provided with the Theo Coffee set. All opinions are my own.

Have you tried slow brewed coffee? If you like coffee (and even if you don’t) , slow brewed coffee is something you must try once, you will be amazed by its taste and flavor. There are many ways to prepare a slow brew, all will create different flavor and feel depending on how you actually brew the coffee. I will not get into too much details but at the end it is a matter of preference of how much coffee oil you like your coffee to have and how clear you want your drink to be.
Less oil in the coffee results to a slightly more bitter taste but one that highlights the more subtle notes in it, the coffee is as clean as it can be. More oil in the coffee results in an earthier bolder flavored cup, this method will result to some residue in the coffee cup. The secret to different ways of brewing is based on what type of filter you  use so that leaves the choice of the vessel up to you in many ways. I was lucky to receive a Theo Stoneware slow brew coffee set from Stelton and I have been using it every day! I use standard Chemex filters for when I want my coffee to have less oils in it and Hario cloth filter for when I want it to have more oil. While the Chemex and Hario coffee brewers are lovely to look at on their own, I absolutely love the stoneware feel of the Theo by Stelton, plus the size of 600 ml is perfect for two people. It is neither too big nor too small, and it looks as great as it feels! I am running a giveaway on my Instagram for a set just as the one above and today is the last day to enter so feel free to click here if you have an instagram account to participate :)

By Lassen Love

// In collaboration with byLassen.I was provided with the white Line. All opinions are my own.

I think by now you all know my love for By Lassen, the clean beautiful lines of their products fit my temperament perfectly. You will always catch a glimpse or two here and there of By Lassen in my house and today is no different. I was wrapping gifts for Christmas and I thought some of the left over ribbon would look great in a shape of a bow on my white Line, it is such a simple decoration yet it brings out a festive tone, I ended up wrapping all my Kubus with ribbons! At the end I love simple styling more than anything, and especially when it is easy to recreate I think it is what makes it a winner. So go ahead and use all your leftover decorations before the New Year comes and goes! :)

Get the Holiday Look

Last few days it has been so hard to catch enough natural daylight to take photos of my home, after all it is the darkest of the year, but I wanted to share some of what I have been inspired lately regardless! The beautiful home I am sharing today is one I would love to move in immediately if not sooner. I love the grey walls and the careful choices of materials and colours, and I would give anything to have those floors! I can spot many of my favourite designers spread throughout the apartment and I adore the subtle Christmas touches here and there. The marble Hay tray is filled with Christmas ornaments, there are different miniature evergreens in various pots from Anne Black to Tine K, while my favourite candleholder from By Lassen Kubus4 in black is draped with leaves and twigs while its candles are burning softly. This understated holiday look is perfect in my eyes.

Kubus4 Black byLassen

One of my all time favorites when it comes to candleholders is the Kubus4 in black from ByLassen. Its classic profile fits my minimalistic interior perfectly while the light it emits is soft yet bright, it fills the house during winter afternoons and nights. I bought mine when I was at CPH airport at the duty free section, and it was the very first byLassen piece I have ever owned. Now with the release of the brass line for candleholders and bowls I am wondering if the fact that I am going to be at CPH airport in a few days again is such a coincidence? :)

Beloved homes : Scandinavian Love Song

Today I am starting a new series called “Beloved Homes”. They are homes that I draw inspiration from, from styling to photography, they are visually stunning. Johanne Dueholm’s home is one of my favorites in terms of aesthetics and I have been following her blog Scandinavian Love Song for quite some time now! My fondness for Scandinavian design is matched with Johannes and I can spot many of my beloved pieces in her home. String shelves have been on my wishlist for a long time now and Johanne displays on hers many of my most loved Danish designs such as Serax vases, byLassen Kubus1 and Kubus4, and Hay storage boxes. All around her apartment you will notice more Danish designers, Norman Copenhagen’s Pocket Organizers on her bedroom walls hold all her essentials at arms reach while in her bathroom Nomess balsa boxes help with the organization of her bathroom products. I am always excited for new posts from her home, I just love her sense of style!

Early Christmas Gift ideas

While we do have quite a long time to go until New Year and all the festivities, I think a Christmas list is in order for those that want to start early with their gifts! Some of my favorites can be seen above and quite a few of them will be on my personal list this year :) I will be making more lists as time goes by, so do check back for more ideas as time for Christmas grows near! Regardless you can use this list as birthday present ideas or even to pumper yourselves for achieving a personal goal ( I usually buy something from my list when a goal is met), or just because when buying something small it can lift your spirits! Personal favorites as seen above are the Le Labo perfumes ( I have the Santal 33 and I love it as seen from my previous post), the Skandinavisk candles (I love the limited Christmas mini box they just launched!), the Lader Larsson and Jennings watch ( mine as seen here has a black leather strap, I wear it everyday). I have a weakness for linen sheets and knitted pillows, and I am definitely getting some now that I am so close to moving to our newly renovated bedroom! And having the new brass bowl and candleholders byLassen on the shelf we just build would be amazing :)

By Lassen Kubus line

Photos and Styling by : Katerina Dima

By Lassen is one of the brands that Scandinavian people cant get enough of and for good reason. Some of my favourite pieces from by Lassen come from the Kubus series.  The beautiful and sleek candleholders (Kubus4 in black as seen above) and the Kubus bowl (in grey size small on my table) make for a perfect pair and you will often see them paired together in my home. Since winter is right around the corner , the days have become so much shorter and candles are a must in our house. Not just for the extra light but for the cozy feeling they give out! The Kubus4 is perfect since it holds 4 long candles and it is also so easy to move! Secretly I cant wait till the bedroom is done and I can prop it near the bed for those extra cuddly nights around the holidays!

Eva Solo Part I : Color Granite Green

Photos and Styling by : Katerina Dima

I am honored to be able to work with Danish brand Eva Solo, styling some of their Automn/Winter 2015 line of products in my own home. Normally I love white and grey tones but Eva Solo unveiled some truly beautiful winter color tones I just love seeing in my home as accents.  The colors, Moonlight Blue and Granite Green complement perfectly every winter dinner or coffee table, while if you look at the store you will also find some of your favorite products in copper as well. I like how the colors are expanded in their whole collection, from bottles to carafes to almost all accessories. I know a lot of people love to color coordinate their kitchen utensils and Eva Solo has now made it easier than ever. While having a singular color theme is great, try color blocking with various products next time, you will be surprised at how beautifully all the colors match together!
Today I used Granite Green products for an afternoon tea table styling for Eva Solo, I love how the earthly tone matches the mood with their new white ceramics line Eva Trio Legio Nova juxtaposed to some of the wooden and cork accent accessories I love to use lately. I will be creating a Moonlight Blue setting as well in Part II so keep an eye for that one in a few days if you are undecided between the two colors!
Links for the products from Eva Solo appearing on my tea table setting today can be found below.

Winter is just around the corner..

Photos and styling by : Katerina Dima

Some photos and stills from my house. I love this time of year, summer ends and winter is just around the corner. So many ideas for this winter but for now I am looking back and keeping notes of what I would love to add to the house and what just clutters my space. I am thinking of adding shelves to the living room and above the office desk, I think for now it is the perfect solution for adding space without creating too much distractions to the eye. I would also love to change the floors but for now the ones I have will have to do. Maybe a project for later? :)

Groovy Magnets

Images by Katerina Dima

By now you already know I love Pinterest (you can  find my pins and boards here) and that creating mood boards is one of my favorite things to do. I have been using tape tor clips to combine papers and objects together on the wall but I think I found the solution that fits me perfectly! Using magnets to tie things together should have been an obvious choice but a lot of times the design is disappointing. I was so happy to discover Groovy Magnets offered a great selection of both magnets as magnetic wallpaper solutions! From chalkboard finish to animal patterns (you can even get an empty one that you can paint to match your wall perfectly) , there is nothing other than your imagination stopping you from creating the perfect mood board or just a cozy corner. I chose golden magnetic numbers and black magnetic alphabet letters and I cannot wait to start using them. They look great on the wall or the fridge or anywhere else you might want to use them but also they can be used on their own as a statement on the wall or coffee table or anywhere else!

By Lassen with Love

Lately I have been so busy I have not been able to share the exciting news that I have become a by Lassen ambassador! It is such a great honor to collaborate with such a prestigious and well known brand in the design world, I only hope I can convey through the next months my love for their design adequately. I already own quite a few pieces from by Lassen namely their beautiful Kubus4 in black candle holder that I am sure you have seen featured so many times in my photos. Here here or here  you can see it perched on my coffee table in the living room, I think it makes for a perfect fit in my minimalistic scandinavian living room! Today I will be spending the day transforming a corner of my living room with few select pieces from the by Lassen collection but I couldn’t resist giving you a little sneak peek of the project while in the making! I selected 3 Frame35 incl doors (colors light grey and dark grey ) to use as an extended sideboard set side by side. I will be also using a Kubus bowl in grey as a way to store small objects I use everyday. Stay tuned for the rest of the transformation, it wont be long! :)
