A Conscious Search

It’s been a long while since the last time I went crazy over a piece of clothing I couldn’t initially find and if I remember correctly, that last time I promised myself never to do it again yet here I am, wearing the H&M Conscious mules for which I searched the whole world frantically for two whole months. I checked stores here, then in NY, Paris, Istanbul, Ankara; I asked my hubby to check them in Berlin, Oslo – they were completely sold out everywhere, which is a hint that you should give up on them at that point, but I refused to get that message from the universe. And much like every other dream, this one too came true through eBay and here they are: my slightly overpaid for, fancy mules. The search is over. finally. Thankfully. . The New White Suit

Never in a million years I would have dreamt of wearing a white suit and be actually happy about it but that’s what fashion does, I guess. Even though this is clearly not a traditional white suit situation, I felt like a wedding singer/Italian mafia in 20’s NY when I put the outfit on. And that weird feeling made me love it even more; I’m very loyal to my comfort zone but I know I’m on the right track when the look is a bit bizarre for me. . Chanel Giveaway

Much like diamonds, skinny jeans or a pair of pumps; a Chanel bag is something that should be in every girl’s wardrobe because no matter how boyish, urban or eclectic you are, there’s a Chanel bag somewhere that would elevate your look when the right moment comes. Unlike skinny jeans or pumps though, it’s hard to get your hands on a Chanel bag so I’m about to offer you a once in a lifetime chance to win your own Chanel. I’ve teamed up with Poshbag Boutique, Canada’s largest online retailer of authentic pre-owned designer handbags, to win a Chanel bag valued at $2000 and all you have to do is follow @poshbagboutique on Instagram, mention a friend in the comments under the giveaway photo and then regram that photo on your own account and tag @poshbagboutique in the photo so they can track it. Contest closes June 30th at midnight EST and winner will be notified on their Instagram. In case Chanel is not your bag (pun intended) or you don’t win the giveaway, you …

Tale of Two Garments

I’ve been into this dress over pants thing for a long time, as long as 25 years to be more accurate, since they let me dress up by myself and I wore my strappy summer dresses over sweaters (another very fashionable twist I added to my toddler style) and pants and refused to take them off. As the years passed that experimental spirit is replaced by desire to add creative layers whilst subtly hiding my thighs and even though being short is a huge obstacle for this style, I still go for it from time to time. Les Paniers Dorés

This is the first time in my adulthood that I, myself voluntarily, invested in fine jewellery instead of a pair of designer shoes or bag and more interestingly, it’s an earring which is my least favorite and something I don’t wear at all, so much that my ear holes were about to close up shop for good. But this was also the first time ever I fell this much in love with a piece of wearable art so I guess it was meant to be. Now I try to coordinate my outfits to my Anissa Kermiche earrings – and force my ears to get used to the weight after decades of solitude. . Khaki shirt Zara (similar here & here) . One For The Road

I’ve probably never wanted anything more than wanting this to be the last time I’ll wear a thick winter coat, until November at least, and unless Montreal is planning on throwing us another impromptu snow tragedy, it seems like we are good to go. And the best part of spring is getting to wear all the shoes that had to wait in dust bags for months, especially this one. I was a little skeptical at first as to whether they will be worth the splurge but in fact they were worth even more, best shopping decision I’ve made this year: unbelievable statement piece, insanely comfortable and actually keeps warm. Herringbone Love

When I bought this coat and put it together with the rest of my outerwear in what used to be a coat closet but now can only be referred to as a pile of wool and faux fur, I instantly realized that 1 out of 5 items are herringbone. Not black but not entirely grey either, subtly printed and smoothly transitions from day to night & business to casual; I don’t regret buying any of them. We are in love and not hiding it from anyone. . Herringbone coat Zara (similar here & here) . Cropped jeans Topshop (similar here & here) . Crop Till You Drop

Drop crotch bottoms are like having a tattoo, you don’t remember how you used to live before they came into your life and you just can’t get enough. One after the other and another and later on nothing can compare. You don’t feel good and comfortable in anything else so it simultaneously uplifts and destroys your life.
