The Oslo home of interior stylists and shop owners

The home of Alessandro D’Orazio and Jannicke Krakvik who compose the Italian and Norwegian styling Kråkvik&D’Orazio, respectively.
It’s a home I’ve seen before, bits and pieces thanks for Instagram and even some thanks to their collaboration with Frama’s launch of their apothecary collection in the home.
This is more of a full tour though, allowing us to get a glimpse of their custom bathroom and the couple’s store, Kollekted By. Found these photos thanks to a feature on the NY Times.

Benches by Max Lamb for Milan Design Week.

Skincare has really been on my mind lately, I’m sure the arrival of Spring has something to do with it. There are so many enticing products, where do I even begin? This one looks interesting, but maybe I’m only attracted to the packaging?

Gubi re-styled

The 2,000 sq meter Gubi showroom in Copenhagen has recently been re-styled (if anyone knows who to credit with this, be sure to leave a comment!) into living scenes with new product, live plants and flowers.
Pictured is their Beetle Chair, which is a favorite of mine, with swivel base designed by GamFratesi in a home office type of setting.

allegory desk

Italian-Danish design duo GamFratesi’s designs for Gebrüder Thonet Vienna include the Allegory desk. The concept of the desk is a really beautiful creation using the rounded shape from the cane seat Era chairs as a divider & memo board.

Allegory is a representation of an abstract or spiritual meaning through concrete or material forms. This literal expression is used in all forms of art, to illustrate ideas and concepts in ways that are comprehensible to its viewers. The circle as an abstract geometric figure to define the personal space. We believe we deserve a somewhat private and intimate place to work, write or simply sit with our laptop. We have therefore combined the traditional Thonet expression using a bend wood structure together with an iconic circular woven cane to allow to screen or being used to set personal items, messages and images.”

They also created the Targa sofa and Morris chairs with the classic Thonet details and cane material.
