A COS Refresh

Copenhagen’s Østergade store is receiving a facelift but during construction you can find their pop up store across the street, which still looks very chic considering it’s only temporary.

We know it’s important to eat well and exercise regularly but how often do you consider how your environment affects wellness?

An unchanged room

At home in our dining room, and if you follow me on Instagram you already saw this! This space has more or less consisted of the same furniture and lighting for years, the bespoke cabinets I designed were installed about a year ago and are the most rec…

A Bedside Lamp With A Difference

I used the bank holiday weekend to do some DIY in the house; a little project I’d been planning for a while, to convert a pendant lamp into a bedside lamp.

Saturday scene

Our Saturday has been subjected to the usual routine of laundry and relaxing but we I also fit in a quick workout with the kids before nap time. Later tonight we’re taking them to see a movie and a walk in the park.

I realize this photo doesn’t depict any of what I just described but the Hellebore was cut form my garden and I feel particularly proud to be able to grow this beautiful dark variation of one of my favorite flowers.

Also, a handy shop-the-look is below if you want source any of these items. I earn a small amount from these affiliate links if you want to shop and support my site simultaneously!

News from Muuto

See more from Muuto here. Sorry to keep it short, I’ll be back early tomorrow!

New additions to the SHOP

Some new items I added to the SHOP page this month, with an adorable giraffe basket for kids, a chair favorite called The Tired Man, Muuto’s tray version of their basket (we have two of these for the kids’ toys), slit cutout sweatshirt, FLOS Taccia lamp in nickel, Byredo’s Suede soap, Friends & Founders knockout side table that has such a perfect silhouette, Sophie Bille Brahe for Ganni bracelet and a new book I just ordered over the weekend called Architecture of Truth. To find more curated good for home, to wear and for kids check out the shop page which is updated weekly.

a cosy family home, and these grey pedestals

The dining room in this apartment is so great, and maybe I like it because it has similar furniture to my own! We have the Gubi Semi pendant with a black table, ours is from Muuto, and some Muuto Visu chairs. What’s even better in this home are the grey pedestals Josefin used to style the room with.
Funny enough I have been coveting some tubular pedestal tables, procrastinating though as I’ not sure where I’d put them in our small house. As yet I’m still undecided but I’ll share ultimately what I end up doing.

See above for my pedestal picks along with accessories to sort of ‘create the look’.

Also this child’s room, which I don’t talk much about on the blog but I love looking at kids rooms, especially ones with sweet details but still pared back and a bit sparse. From experience I know it is too easy to let their spaces become overloaded with stuff, so a kids room with ‘just enough’ is the most appealing to me. Also, you can find the bunny lamp here and grid box here.

ready for Fall

Every year I sing the praises of Autumn, but I think it’s because Fall is like a breath of fresh air and a relief from summer’s heat and of course not as frigid as winter. I could live the rest of my life in Autumnal weather. I’m bringing out the knits…

my new desk chair

Our bedroom corner also serves as a makeshift desk. I can’t say that it’s completely finished as I’d like to figure out some sort of board or cork maybe to hold loose papers. Our printer also needs a home but I want something discreet because printers …

new muuto

New products and lifestyle imagery from Muuto including these FRAMED mirrors that look really fantastic, I like the color tinted glass. Expected to be released in early May.

Some images I took over the weekend, recovering from a severe cold but still enjoyed pulling these items from the cupboard, their warm colors and textures together.

still life with UP lamp

At home today, with Muuto’s UP lamp among some other pieces I had pushed aside for later. I’ve had my eye on this lamp for a bit, it’s unusual shape and soft finish intrigued me and I like it even more now at home. There’s this really discreet sensor ne…

this morning’s living room

The title just about sums it up, need I say more? Ok.I was taking advantage of Israel’s playdate at a friend’s house to clean the floors and noticed the light flooding in from the windows. Also, the living room wasn’t littered with stuffed animals and …

afternoon kitchen

Today I imported a load of photos to my laptop and somehow they all vanished. Out of 300 some photos, just about a dozen I took today from our kitchen remained. Now to find a way to retake all those lost photos. Sigh!

visu

Our dining table has some random chairs, which I don’t mind at all. Ideally I’d have one more but it’s not pressing right now. 3 of our chairs are the Muuto Visu dining chairs, two with metal sled bases and this newer one with wood legs. I like the var…

a silver diamond / Prospect Goods

I’ve kept Elin’s crib area pretty plain since we moved into the new place but it definitely needed something to make it feel well, special. Her bedding is a grey cover from Oeuf with a small heart pillow from Numero 74, a pink/taupe one from Muuto and …
