7 folding screen room dividers

Image photographed by Anthony Cotsifas, styled by Bette Adams

A fascination with room dividers has grown in me since I made one of my own last summer for our outdoor space. This time I’m talking indoors however with 7 ideas for room dividers.

Elysee chairs

Pierre Paulin’s Elysee chairs are on my long-term wishlist. You know, for someday when the kids have moved out and our furniture can stay clean and isn’t constantly being disassembled or jumped on, I’d love a pair of these.

wanted/ MR chair

Originally designed by Mart Stam but introduced Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1927, the tubular steel and cane seat still somehow feel incredibly relevant. Actually I would love an MR chair myself, one of the leather variations ideally which is now produ…

at home anywhere in the world

I’m honored to be partnering with Carl Hansen & Søn to announce a fun project they are hosting, something you can join in on also!
Since Carl Hansen & Søn distributes their pieces on a global scale, they want to see their pieces in your own home, anywhere you live. In case you’re not familiar with some of their legendary products, CH & Søn manufactures such iconic pieces as the Wishbone chair, CH88 (which you can see above in photos I took from my own home!), OW150 daybed and Kaare Klint’s Safari chair.

Post your own Carl Hansen & Søn piece at home and use #globalhomes @carlhansenandson.
The best contributions will be rewarded with a Hans J. Wegner Wishbone chair!
Keep up with some of their favorites (maybe yours will be included too) right here.

the perfect cups, found

Sinnerlig

The internet is abuzz with the new photos of Studio Ilse’s new collaboration with Ikea, set to release in August of this year, and rightfully so. Sinnerlig is incredible with it’s natural elements and cork materials. It really is such an elevated collection for Ikea, set against the beautiful backdrop of Ett Hem hotel, which was also designed with Studio Ilse. Else Crawford herself describes it this way, “It is quite low key but we deliberately designed it like that, we see it as background, it’s not trying to compete with these fantastic icons of design – it’s a different thing. But we all need a number of lights that aren’t supposed to be waving at you.”

new look

Ikea is one of those things/places that is very internationally known. Most countries have one or some locations and it’s not hard to spot their pieces on tv sets or in apartments around the world. It’s almost a common thread for most of us. Sometimes …

a new candle

I have loved & Other Stories since I first saw their new store online. A few weeks later I visited their Copenhagen & Stockholm stores during their grand openings. Their displays and fixtures alone were inspiring but their carefully selected product line was even more beautiful. Bottles of lotions, tables of powder, and jars of body scrubs filled an entire room. I felt like a kid in a candy store.
Finally (or what seems like finally) they have opened their first US store in NY and I grabbed myself one of their new candles in a matte porcelain jar. Actually it’s burning on my desk right now & smells so fresh, soon I’m going to need more!

shapely

Anna Lerinder’s ceramic still life, HAY’s new Pivot shelf and w132 lamps from Nendo all in matte, earthy tones. New week, new inspiration!

new A/W prints

News from Therese Sennerholt are these new prints in postcard & poster size just in time for Fall. I like the deep blues very much!

a new rail & news

The wonderful and incredibly talented Annaleena sent us one of her rails recently and I think it was exactly what this blank wall in our kitchen needed to holding towels and brushes.
The chem glass, tin box & brush are from one of my favorites, Betong Gruvan.

As strange as this is to say, and soon after I hung this great new piece, we have decided to move! We’re in the process of selling our house but in the meantime we will be in a temporary place for about a year (hopefully less). Crazy right?!
I’m going to miss this place where my son & daughter were born, which we just bought recently and were slowly making it into a place we felt truly at home. However we have bigger dreams right now, dreams that might be taking us in a completely different direction that we need to take steps towards. As vague as that is I will have to wait and see how things unfold myself before I can share more.
Just don’t worry, I will keep updating my IG with news and you can look forward to seeing our new (very temporary) little place in the meantime.

Happy almost weekend!

inspiration now

A few things I find inspiring right now. Firstly are these new wool pillows from Danish artist and ceramicist Gry Fager. I like the pattern of pieces in all white wool that composes each cushion, I think one of each would be just great. Some really ins…
