A tip for you on a snowy day

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with Ellos.
Waking up today and seeing the first snow fall out of my window really made me appreciate staying in bed and working from in between my covers. With an amazing view from both the bedroom windows and a hot cup of tea really the only reason I got up was to snap quickly some photos, then tuck myself back in and put my mac on my lap so I could work for the next few hours.
And since I am spending a few precious hours in bed,I have a tip for you today, if you are looking for a conscious choice when it comes to sheets of good quality that are budget friendly. The Juliette Organic Cotton range from Ellos is not only environmentally friendly, but very soft and comfortable as well. The colors vary, mine as seen in the photos is Kittgrå , a beautiful shade between Ecru and gray. Can you blame me for not wanting to get up?

A peek into the Fredericia World

//Trip and expenses were sponsored by Georg Jensen and Fredericia.
A little while ago I and a few other colleagues had the chance to visit the Fredericia showroom in Copenhagen, learn more about the history and designs of Fredericia Furniture but also, enjoy a full day of an amazing tour, part of the Scandi design Tour 2017 organized by Fredericia and Georg Jensen. I have already written about the day we spend at Georg Jensen at my Inside Georg Jensen : The making of the Torun Bangle post, for a full tour you are welcomed to read both!

Starting our tour we left hotel SP34 and walked towards the Fredericia Showroom in a beautiful sunny day in Copenhagen. The new Showroom at the top of the historic former Royal Mail House was renovated and restored to display the entire collection of Fredericia designs, a creative workspace and a gallery with changing exhibitions. We met with Thomas and Rasmus Graversen (2nd and 3nd generation owners of the company) on the first floor of the showroom, where first we were introduced to some iconic classic designs, like the Spanish chair, the Trinidad chair , the 2213 sofa and the Søborg Chair . Fredericia is also proud of collaborations with a carefully chosen circle of international designers, all renown for their exceptional level of design integrity. All with the ambition of creating contemporary design that is always beautifully crafted, relevant and aesthetically intriguing. Already iconic examples include the Swoon chair ( as seen above in the Space Copenhagen offices) and the Spine Collection from Space Copenhagen.

The Hunting Chair, as seen below, designed by Børge Mogensen in 1950, was Mogensen’s first work with exposed wooden framing and saddle leather. The chair in the Fredericia showroom is the very first working prototype, we were lucky that the showroom was exhibitioning such rare iconic furniture. With the Spanish Chair Mogensen expanded upon his work with solid oak and saddle leather. The chair was launched in 1958 as part of an innovative living space exhibition, in which all tables were removed from the floor to create an open living space. Fredericia has its roots in traditional craftsmanship based on a deep understanding of natural materials like vegetable tanned leather and solid wood. Solid pieces of oak from sustainable European forests are refined and processed; creating the elegant frame for the iconic Spanish Chair. Each part of the timber frame for the Spanish Chair is assembled with wooden dowels and bonded together under high pressure to ensure strength and stability for decades to come. It takes a steady hand to colour the leather edges of the Spanish Chair and continuing our tour in the Fredericia showroom we were treated to a craftmanship class by one of the craftsmen from Tränsjo Garveri , who showed us parts of the process. The entire production requires fourteen days of patient craftsmanship and passionate dedication to complete the iconic Spanish Chair. You can see the Spanish chair in the making in a video at Fredericia website here and gain even more insight in the design and the process. Below you can see some photos from the process captured by me, and then the Spanish chair displayed in the beautiful rooftop part of the showroom on the top floor where at the evening we were treated to an exquisite dinner and cocktails.

We were lucky to be able to experience prototypes in our tour, the 2213 sofa as seen above Mogensen designed for his own home in 1962, and it is that very one that is displayed here. With generous proportions, modest aesthetic, a choice of materials and execution second to none, the sofa achieves Mogensen’s ambition to create the ultimate sofa. From the solid hardwood frame construction, to the carefully measured ratio of foam to feather in the cushions, the sofa part of the collection is thoroughly uncompromising. The bull hides used at Fredericia are of the highest calibre, from animals that have been raised under strict ethical guidelines. Every sofa and chair in the collection is 100% hand crafted and upholstered in the Fredericia factory in Denmark.

Even though I visit Copenhagen a lot these days for work, I was still very happy that the team had arranged for us to have lunch at a cafe a short walk by, that serves something all Danish people enjoy for lunch everyday, the unique smørrebrød (literally spread bread, or open faced sandwich). Invariably based on rye bread, smørrebrød can have an almost limitless number of different toppings, from herring, to raw beef, seafood and egg, and it is delicious, you can take my word for it.

After lunch, taking advantage of the beautiful weather we walked towards Space Copenhagen offices, where the talented architects ( and designers) duo Peter Bundgaard Rützou ( above ) and Signe Bindslev Henriksen ( below), talked to us about the design process from concept to prototype to production of few of their iconic designs for Fredericia, the Swoon chair and Spine Collection.

Space Copenhagen originally designed Spine for the interior design for a Michelin starred restaurant in 2011. The Spine series has a solid character where the texture of the wood and upholstery are given solid emphasis. The hand-sewn upholstery for the chair is inspired by techniques that were developed at Fredericia’s workshop for Børge Mogensen’s exclusive 1960’s leather series. Spine is a fusion of the organic, solid, and modern. In designing the series, Space Copenhagen felt their way forward using their intuition, until reaching a balanced design that invites many hours of relaxation. The Swoon was designed to fill the gap between a conventional lounge chair and a typical armchair – for use in lounge areas as well as private homes. The organic, yet structured design holds the seated body and provides an instant feeling of relaxation while offering excellent back support.

After our visit to Space Copenhagen, it was time to return to SP34 for a quick rest, then head back to Fredericia Showroom for a beautiful dinner on the rooftop. I dont have photos from the dinner but, the table was set with Georg Jensen tableware while we seated in an array of all Fredericia chairs, iconic classics and new favorites. At the end of the night we moved outside on the balcony to learn how to make our own cocktails using the new Georg Jensen Sky bar collection. All that with an exquisite view of Copenhagen from above.

I want to thank the Fredericia and Georg Jensen team for organising the Scandi design Tour 2017showing us around Copenhagen. It was a fascinating two days where not only I got to be with fellow colleagues, but all of us got a chance to learn the history and appreciate even more these iconic Danish brands.

I hope everyone enjoyed these series of posts as much as I enjoyed taking photos during the tour!

How to set a minimal autumn table with Pillivuyt

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with Pillivuyt.

Fall for me doesn’t only signify the beginning of the cold season but also the start of the wonderful gatherings season, I am always so much looking forward to dinners with friends indoors and plans for fun nights have already begun. One of the most fun part of hosting a dinner is setting up the table and today I would love to share some tips with you on how to style a minimal Autumn table. The elegant Pillivuyt Plissé line fits perfectly with the design I have in mind and in this case I chose to make it the center of the table setting. Read below for tips on how to recreate my Fall Autumn Table setting!

1. Often the most difficult decision when beginning a design plan is choosing the color palette. I almost always end up choosing white when it comes to tableware because they are easy to style and they will match and complement any styling, no matter how traditional, minimal or whimsical.
2. Table runners and linen tablecloths will define the placement of the table, however if you have a beautiful table , there is no reason to hide it under cloths. If anything I find a minimal table setting will look even more beautiful on a wooden surface, plus it is so much easier to handle spills! Place linen white napkins however in between plates to give a warm and inviting feeling.

3. Even a minimal composition has need for rules and structure, adding a big centrepiece will help define the placement of the tableware but be careful that it does not distract from the design plan. I suggest using a big glass vase that not only will make a statement but its transparency will make it light and it will not obstruct the view.
4. Flowers are a favorite of mine, for my minimal design plan I chose a few simple stems in mustard color (so very autumnal)  and arranged them in my big vase. If you wish you can also add one stem on every plate for each guest, or add something else that represents fall for you. I filled the top bowls of my table design with chestnuts instead, this way I am bringing a little bit of nature on the table without overwhelming it.

5. Do you have a small table like me? Then do as I did and keep all extra plates that you are going to use or cups or saucers next to the table on a shelf in an open composition. This way the setting feels more intimate and it is easier to change the setting after dinner is finished. I always keep the coffee set close by, Norwegians love having coffee after dinner and it is so much easier to set the new table after eating.  Pillivuyt Plissé line is so beautiful , like my table I do not like hiding it!
As a final note, Norwegians drink a lot of coffee, and I am always setting up the table with a full coffee set after dinner. But regardless if you have this tradition, a full set of coffee cups and mugs is always welcomed, whether you are serving coffee after eating, or just enjoying it in a rainy afternoon by the window. You can find more photos (including a full setting for coffee) and a stop movie of how I prepared my table at Pillivuyt today!

Inside Georg Jensen : The making of the Torun Bangle

//Trip and expenses were sponsored by Georg Jensen and Fredericia.

Two thousand seventeen, marks the 50th year of the collaboration between Georg Jensen and master Silversmith Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe, and a propos this celebration, a few blogger colleagues and me had the opportunity to be invited to Copenhagen and see first hand the making of the her famous Torun bangle, as well as, an inside exclusive view of the world of Georg Jensen
With a history that spans more than 100 years, Georg Jensen represents quality craftsmanship and timeless aesthetic design, producing lifestyle products ranging from hollowware to watches, jewellery and home products. The philosophy of Georg Jensen himself was to create democratic designs possessing both functionality and beauty. His artisanal skill and artistic talent combined with his continuous ability to identify and support design talent was the foundation on which he built Georg Jensen in Copenhagen in 1904.
Georg Jensen’s style embraced the Art Nouveau lines of the day but injected them with a distinctive vigour that continues to resonate today. Serene flowing forms are enriched by exquisitely sculpted ornamentation and his stylised bouquets of flowers and lush bunches of grapes reflect his sensual delight in nature.

We were treated to a tour of the Silver Smithy, where we got to see how some of the designs were being realized almost from start to finish in various stages. From mold to form, even prototypes had so much elegance and uniqueness that they could easily be treated as art pieces of great value. I was fascinated not only by the history of the designs, the designers themselves, but also by the silversmiths and their dedication to the craftsmanship. Twenty seven silversmiths currently work at the intimate Georg Jensen smithy, each with a special set of skills. Each item produced here is 100% handmade, formed and expertly hammered into shape. From apprentice to silversmith, one needs 4 years of practice before they are able to work on their own without guidance, but becoming a master is a lifetime work. The pieces themselves take exceptionally long to make, a pitcher can take up to two months, while one of their most famous pieces Hennings Koppel Fish Dish takes more than 6 months of work. Every single piece produced at the smithy is a work of art, from jewelry to cutlery, truly the work of masters.

During our tour we not only got to visit the silver smithy, but we were lucky to be able to get an exclusive look into the archives of Georg Jensen filled with hundreds of original designs some more than 100 years old, as well as the design lab which was filled with sketches and prototypes ( some of which I am not allowed to share with you yet! ). We were also lucky to talk to the designer Aurélien Barbry of the new collection Sky, and discuss about the functionality of his designs as well as the creative process.

The highlight of the tour however for me was getting to know more about the designer Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe, and watch as various expert silversmiths realised in front of our eyes one of her designs, the Torun bangle.

Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe (1927 – 2004) was born in Malmö Sweden. She graduated from the Academy of Industrial Arts in Stockholm in 1945 and in 1956 she settled in Paris where she quickly became known for her jewellery. Torun’s designs have become legendary and are exhibited at several museums worldwide including the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Torun was philosophical about the role of design in our everyday lives:
“A piece of jewellery should be a symbol of love. It should enhance and move with the body so that it blends with you. It must not overwhelm, but enhance you. This is why it must be timeless. It shouldn’t matter if you are 17 or 87 years old.”
Torun was an exceptionally talented artist, her pieces were all formed by bending silver into the forms she imagined using only one piece of metal. The Torun bangle folds around the wrist gracefully and it locks in a way that symbolizes the bond that two people have together, stronger in unison than being apart. Symbolism was very important to Torun and all her pieces have greater meaning. She was so connected with her ideas that she even reinvented them over time, nothing was forgotten and everything was in a constant flux in her creative process.

In the Georg Jensen smithy there is a recreation of Toruns own workshop, borrowing clothes and memorabilia, books and items that she treasured, here time almost stops and one can dive into Toruns world. A fierce feminist Torun was the voice of liberation in all fronts, social , sexual, racial, cultural, she did not conform to the tropes of her time. She began making jewelry as a teenager and she even staged her first exhibition at the age of 21. In 1948 she traveled to Paris and Cannes, where she met painters Pablo Picasso, Georges Braque and Henri Matisse.

Torun’s jewelry was inspired by natural shapes such as flowers, leaves, swirls and the flow of water. It is described as sober, minimalist and simple. Torun has been praised for her ability to shape solid materials into seemingly flexible forms, so that metal flows like water around the wearer’s neck and shoulders. She did not use valuable stones, preferring instead pebbles, granite, rock crystal, moonstone and quartz.

In 1948, saying that she didn’t want to design jewelry for the wives of wealthy men to keep locked up in private, Torun began making what she called “anti-status jewelry” out of twisted silver wire embellished with crystals and stones. In 1959, she designed the Mobius necklace, which included a lead crystal drop to be draped over the shoulder of the wearer. It was described by Barbara Cartlidge, author of the reference book Twentieth Century Jewelry, as a “milestone in the history of modern jewelry.” In 1962, Torun designed a stainless steel bangle-style wristwatch for an exhibition at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. It later became the first wristwatch to be produced by the world-renowned Danish silver company Georg Jensen.

The Torun bangle takes an expert silversmith more than 10 hours of work to make. It goes through various stages of process, the strand of silver is cut with a saw to an appropriate size, then filled from all sides, then following the steps of the designer herself, folded manually into its final shape. The process looks simple when you look at it from afar, but we had a chance to be involved into all the steps and I cannot stress this enough, there was nothing easy or simple when your hands are doing the work. It is no wonder takes patience and expertise that can only be gained after years of honing the procedure. The final result , the Torun bangle looks effortless, and it naturally folds over the wrist, just as Vivianna Torun herself intended.

Even though we didnt get to make our own Torun Bangle however ( despite our best efforts ), we were each gifted with one that was custom made for us, down to our carved initials on the inside. I would have treasured this gift regardless for years, but it was extra special for me after learning so much about Torun, getting involved in the whole process and being part of this amazing experience. A big thank you to Georg Jensen and our hosts for organizing one of the most beautiful trip.

Elegantly creepy Halloween table

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with Ellos

For this years Halloween table, I wanted something that would feel elegantly creepy, with a few muted color touches. Today I will show you a sample of how I imagined my table to look like, of course you can always add or remove props depending on how full or minimal you want your Halloween table to be. Lets start!

1. A spindly branch ::

Choose a skinny branch with twigs that pop out reminiscing of a strange bonny hand. If there are leaves remove them , and if the branch is not dark enough you can always spray paint it black!

2.

Small multi colored pumpkins :: Here there are many choices, but try to find small pumpkins that their colors are a little faded. You can always spray paint them of course but it is best for this look if they are natural colored. I am not a fan of orange so I chose soft green, yellow and pale blush pink hues.

3. Very drippy black candles :: All you need is a candleholder that will allow the candle to drip on it in a natural way, as if it was standing by a breezy window. I found the perfect black one at Ellos on their Candleholders category.

4. A few dark touches ::  Here we can finally add something that a lot of people might be looking for for a Halloween table, I chose to use a dark linen tablecloth and ceramic cutlery against ceramic light plates while for napkins I used an organic cotton for Nuno felt piece that I cut into squares and placed under the cutlery. It gave a light touch while at the same time its light weave resembles a fine spider web, which fits perfectly with the theme! The black ceramic cutlery can be found at Ellos, from the line Mimou Pure, which also has the small black and white small bowls I used as decoration but also as side plates. The tablecloth is from the Ellos Home line and can be found here, color dark grey.

Add some more touches, like wine if you drink or an extra candle or pumpkins on the window, another branch on the floor, and this years Halloween elegantly creepy table is set!

Simple Scandinavian Living Room Styling

Sponsored post in collaboration with Nest.co.uk
I had a little time this weekend and I finally styled my own living room a little bit, so before I start sharing photos from my trips last month I thought I would show you how the room looks like right now after a few recent additions!

Starting off with the biggest one although I recently showed it off as I assembled it on my instagram , the Menu Stick system in white. I needed a shelf system and I couldn’t decide if it should be mounted on the wall or free on the floor, but I found the Menu one on a great sale in a shop in Oslo which made my decision pretty easy. And if after a few months I need a little bit of change I can always sell it and buy something else, recycling interior pieces is something I firmly believe in, I much prefer buying something that has value that I can later sell and get something else, then start over again when I need a change.
Another two additions in the room are the Kizu Lamp from New Works and the Hay Slit table in Mirror, both of which I was lucky to have delivered on my door by Nest , one of the stores in UK that I recommend heartily to my readers from UK (and the rest of the Europe) for their great selection of brands that are on the forefront of interior design last few years. I have talked about a lot with the owners as well and we both share the same values when it comes to furniture recycling, and not only. Recently we were discussing the concept of Lagom, exactly because we both love simplicity, roughly translated from Swedish as ‘appropriately in balance’ or simply ‘Just right’.

Lagom is not an interior ‘trend’ but rather a way of living in balance, of having just the right amount of anything you need. I wrote a piece for Nest about our discussions and my thoughts on the subject that was published on their web blog , if you want to read more about Lagom and life in balance through my eyes you can find it here

Finally, when it comes to my living room , some details really set the mood and their are very easy to apply. A rather bulky plant will cover an awkward space and make the transition from a piece of furniture to a corner seamlessly (I bought my Fiddle fig tree from the flower market a week ago although I only potted it in a simple terracotta pot yesterday ) , while a simple poster on the wall will give a polished finished look. My poster is a limited edition art concept from  Therese Sennerholt ( one of Swedens most famous and most talented Art Directors) called Full Moon Doodle in grey.

I have used my Kizu lamp on one of the windowsills in my living room, but I think it will look just as nice on the Menu shelves, while the round Hay table I am temporarily using as my main table but in the future it will either be a side table or a night stand ( on my Bedroom sneak peek post I used the brass version I got temporarily from Nest, I loved it as a solution!).

For now I will leave this space as is, but I am adding some new things as October goes by, plus painting the walls, I love changes and I need warmer colors on the walls for the winter!

Spend the Summer outside with Ellos

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with Ellos
Just because August is so close, it doesnt mean the summer is over, far from it! I am getting back to Oslo from vacation today and my veranda doesn’t even have the essentials so I have gathered a few things from Ellos Home that will help me, I hope they inspire you as well!
:: Hammock | If you are lucky to have a tree in your garden or anywhere to hang a hammock at your balcony I highly recommend Hengestol Svea
:: Pillows | Velvet is not just for inside the house, get comfortable outside as well with the pillows Georgia. My favorite color is grey-green.
:: Carafe | Sitting outside in the sun requires something refreshing and this carafe ( Mugge Mary ) will hold any beverage in style.
:: Vase | The same rules apply outside as they do inside. A table is just better with a vase filled with flowers, try the glass vase Similla for a minimal look.
:: Flowerpot | Flowerpots are not only for flowers, I use the metal pot Allison with the embossed pattern and decorative patinated surface to plant herbs and keep outside. Herbs do so much better when planted, and with all the outside summer cooking, having a small herb garden is a must.
:: Rug | Last but not least, try a plastic carpet if you want to cover an ugly veranda floor that you cannot change easily, especially if you are renting. I like to use the same palette so the result is pleasing, so Peak fits perfectly with the styling of my veranda, but Ellos has a great selection of plastic rugs that can be found here . And of course, they can be left outside when it rains!

Early Green Mornings

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with Ellos

Today I woke up really early ,right when the first rays of sun started hitting our small veranda. Scandinavian days are so long during this time of year, the sun is out almost at 6 in the morning. I usually start my day with water, during winter it is hot water with a little bit of lemon, while during summer I make a carafe with infused water that I keep in the fridge so it is ready whenever I want to enjoy something cool with a little bit of flavor. My favorite is really simple, just add fresh mint, some cucumber, lime and lemon slices in a carafe, fill it up with water and let it infuse for a few hours in the fridge. It coincidentally matches the all green clean white mood in my veranda as well, the look I created for this summer. It is really easy to replicate and budget friendly and it fits small verandas perfectly.
Start with painting the floors and the rails white if you can, but grey rails or black will work just as well. (I painted the veranda white last year and I barely need to wash it, it doesn’t show its dirt at all and my veranda is not covered. The paint handled snow and rain great too, no peeling ). Cafe style chairs and cafe style table match well with the mood I wanted to create, they are easy to find in any store (mine are from Ellos but check measurements first before you order as they run much smaller than the usual cafe style furniture). Add a garland of string lights ( again you can fine the exact ones at Ellos, they are suitable for outside and they also come in black color) , they give off a French country cafe feeling even during the day! For a clean green look choose all green plants , a monstera and a pilea where the plants of my choice, but mostly I just use the plants I already have in the house.
Bring out a magazine, a cup of matcha tea or infused green water and enjoy an all green clean crisp mood in the comfort of your own home ;)

I will leave you with a photo from my instagram stories earlier today, it is not the best resolution, but it gives the exact feeling of a crisp early morning, or at least how my morning was exactly! And such a beautiful warm day it turned out to be!

Spending time in the bedroom

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with Room21.no
These past few weeks of constant travelling between Norway/Denmark/Sweden has taken a little bit of a toll on me and I found myself taken with the common cold/flu, probably a bug from the airplane/airport air. I have found a new appreciation in my bedroom, having to spend all day in it for several days has added to that profoundly. This should go without saying, making the bedroom a comfortable and familiar space to be in, but since I have spend even more time here I changed my side of the bed to fit my needs.
I am sure you have seen glimpses on my instagram, I recently got 2 items from Room21.no  from their Menu selection (Menu is among just a few of the leading Scandinavian brands that can be found in Room21) , the Standard Bordlampe and the Jewelry Box in white oak. Never underestimate how useful a lamp can be next to you, no matter how many hours you spend in bed or not, this one sheds the softest light ( adjustable) , while the Jewelry box is really useful for anything you want to hide. I tend to take off all my accessories before I sleep and since my cat likes to play with everything, it is best to just hide them away. The box can be open or closed, it looks great either way, plus the clever design with the mirror makes it very versatile for quick touch ups in the morning. Danish design, you can hardly go wrong with it :)

Simple frame styling with Desenio and a 25% discount code.

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with Desenio.no

As I am packing to move in a few weeks I am constantly wondering what to take with me and how I will style the new apartment. Since it is a rental there are some restrictions although instead of being bothered by it I think it is actually quite fun to find solutions to work around any styling problems. One of the most common is hanging anything on the walls, but while some cannot be helped ( big furniture etc ) , some can have interesting solutions instead! When it comes to frames thankfully they look great on the floor just as much as on the wall, if anything I think I prefer them this way at this point.
With the help of Desenio and their great variety of posters and frames I think I am off to a good start on making a nice little frame corner don’t you think? I started with a few frames and few foggy botanical posters and I will be adding more of this collection soon, I find the bigger this frame arrangement the better it looks.

A small tip for you : Leave a few of the frames empty, it makes for a more delicate arrangement while at the same time it doesn’t look overly styled!

The frames I used are from Moebe and they can also be found at Desenio under their Frames category. When it comes to botanical posters they can all be found under the Botanical category . My top picks and the ones I chose as shown in this post are :

1 | Misty Poster  2 | Palm Silhouette  3 | Foggy Poster

As a bonus I am happy to share a code with all of you that Desenio created for all my readers. Use  code “ONLYDECOLOVE” for 25% off your order at Desenio between 6th – 8th of June ( not valid for handpicked/frames ). Since the code is active for only two days this is the best time to to update your photo wall, or if you prefer my way, create a new frame corner in your living room or bedroom or even at the office!

Affordable bedroom essentials from Ellos Home

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with Ellos
A few days ago I lamented on how it has been very difficult to find an apartment in Oslo that would tick at least some of my most important boxes (a more in depth discussion about it can be found here) . Luck had it however that a friend decided to rent out her apartment instead of selling it, and with an incredible sigh of relief I can finally stop my search! The apartment is very beautiful, high ceilings, big windows, beautiful floors, marble bathroom and packed with character, right in the middle of Grünerløkka. I cannot wait until first of July to take it over, but until then, I can finally start planning!

Moving can be more expensive than originally thought and can quickly get out of hand if not careful. There are so many essentials that need to be bought or things to be done that we don’t really consider as extras , at the end it can completely throw us off budget. Searching for affordable solutions without sacrificing quality can be daunting, so I hope today’s tip will help out, whether you are moving to a new place like I am or not! One of the first rooms I will tackle before even moving in is the bedroom. Really I can sit on a sheepskin on the floor when it comes to the living room and I don’t need a table or chairs asap, but a bed and linens is something that has to be in before me.
Ellos Home own line, when it comes to house essentials, is remarkably versatile and especially when it comes to the bedroom products I give them top points on their quality. Their selection of linens is quite big with something for everyone, while there are bed skirts to dress the bed if it doesn’t look great and elevate its look as well as quilts, throws, pillows and pillowcases and duvets, practically everything that one might need when it comes to bedding. Below you can find some of my favorites, expect to see them in my new bedroom come July!

Remember if you log in your account in Ellos, under the tab Offers/ Tilbud there can always be found great codes tailored for your account, for example one of mines is 40% off my most expensive item with a bedlinen gift or 10% off the whole cart! –

Guest bathroom organization tips and tricks

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with Room21.no

When it comes to having guests in the house, I always try to make them feel at home. I find that a few touches can be really thoughtful and welcoming, just what your friend needs when they visit. I have a few tips and tricks to share that work well plus they give a personal touch!

:: Think outside the “box” | The Jewelry Box in ash by Menu ( can be found at Room21.no ) can serve as more than just an organizer for jewelry , here I fill it with cotton pads, a travel size hand cream, some cotton swabs, anything that my guest would want to have in the bathroom for their day-night routine care. The box is very versatile since its lid also has a mirror in one side that can conveniently be propped up, while when it closes the top part can be used for a space to lay your watch or rings before sleep, so they can be easily found next day in the morning.
:: Use your travel sized goodies | Something else I always do, is leave travel sized essentials from my favorite brands for my guests to use. This way they get to try my most loved products without having to have an extra full size, plus I can always refill them easily and take them with me when I travel!
:: Mini soaps trick | I always get one of the small soaps when I visit hotels from the bathroom. I love bringing them back and using them, they remind me of the time I spend while on holidays , the smell just brings me back. With my traveling however they tend to accumulate so, I find that filling a jar or a vase with mini soaps (check last photo) not only is useful but it looks quite nice as well! Plus all the hotels tend to have great brands, my vase is filled with Diptyque, Aesop, Penhaligon’s etc Whats not to love when it comes to having such variety?

Sunday tips

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with Stelton.
I love having some flowers in the house, I am not a big bouquet kind of person but a few select blooms always lift up my mood. Today I took a short walk outside and discovered a small bed of wild poppies, they are so beautiful even when not in full bloom! I selected a variation of them (some with closed some with bloomed buds) so they would look even more delicate in the vase by the bed. And here is my tip of the day which I am sure you saw coming, when spring is in the air, always try to venture out in case you find a hidden flower bed, wild flowers are so much more beautiful in my eyes than any other flowers! And much more economical as well ;)
For the vase I chose the new Concave Vase from Stelton ( mine is in size medium) designed by Søren Refsgaard. I really like how the powder coated aluminum body contrasts with the polished steel ring top, I have been using mine just as decoration without any flowers in the last few weeks, it looks great with or without blooms!

The other new addition in the bedroom is the carafe I am currently using (always have water by the bed) also from Stelton and it is their new Emma serving Jug 2l along with their Simply Glass glasses in grey. The Emma pitcher combines stainless steel and a beach wood handle for a contemporary look, while the glasses are in minimalistic design with the gray shade elevating them from the ordinary. You can see them also in my kitchen here , I will move the pitcher around the house during the day, as for the glasses, it is always good to have more than 12 as a set so there are always extra when you need them!

New and favorite Kitchen essentials

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with Ellos.
While I am planning my move to the apartment soon I am in the process of thinking what to take with me, what to leave at the cabin and what to donate/give away. Moving is a good time to purge of any extra or old things with no sentimental value, but I will make a different post on how to deal with something like that efficiently soon enough!
When it comes to the kitchen, a few things I will be taking with me include a set of plates from Marimekko I got from Ellos ( series Oiva), along with their cups, bowls and teapot.  I like the simple design and even though I am not sure of how the new space will look like I am sure these will fit in the new kitchen very well. Some other new additions that I barely use so I can take them with me new are new cutting/serving boards from Bloomnigville and brass measuring spoons ( also found at Ellos ),  cheese cutlery with marble handle from Ellos Home line (found here) as well as a coffee dripper. I am still considering what else to include and boxes are already on the floor with things, but for now I will opt to only put in them completely new things, and I will see what I ll do with the old!

Styling with Corals

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with Ellos.
Some items have the ability to create calm vibes in your environment, and being from Greece I have always kept corals around me for styling for exactly this reason. Whether they have healing abilities as many believe it is not for me to say, however I find that their petrified softness gives me peace of mind when I glance towards their direction especially when going through tough times. Corals can be placed almost anywhere in the house, on the living room table on top a stack of magazines, by the bedside under the windowsill, even in the bathroom near the sink. Today I am sharing some of my favorite spots to place a coral in the home.  If they are native to your country then a walk on the beach on a warm afternoon is all you need, but if they aren’t, I have found a nice selection at Ellos Home. The small one as seen in the photos is the Dekor Korall hight 10 cm while there is a bigger one as well the Korall Serlina as seen here. Up until the 4th of April you can also get 25% of your whole purchase from Ellos, always a good way to get something that has been in your wishlist for a long time!

Bathroom tips

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with ByLassen.

I just came back from Oslo yesterday and I am already dreaming about a new bathroom in the city. While in Oslo I managed to sneak in visiting some potential apartments, some with bigger or smaller bathrooms. Generally it is quite hard to find a big bathroom in the city, storage is always something to think about. Organizing some of my things in trays or boxes is my go to solution, with or without their lids. Today I chose some of By Lassen’s range of Frame accessories to round up few of my beauty essentials, while I also decided to put some of the smaller bottles on the window, I think they look perfect right there! The Frames come in 3 sizes and different color combinations, for my bathroom I chose the Frame 14 in the new dark blue color and the Frame 20 in smoked oak to store bigger items. And if they don’t fit in my new bathroom, I will just move them in the living room or the bedroom for storage!

Beige in the Bedroom : Early Spring signs

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with Ellos. All opinions are my own.
As the weather continues to surprise us every day, from intense snowing to intense sunlight and warmth after just a few hours, I can’t help but dream of spring. While for most people spring translates to bright yellows, greens and pinks, to me all the exploding colors of the nature outside are enough, which is why I chose to bring spring inside my bedroom with various tones of beige, a color that to me represents tranquility and mindfulness.  In other words, perfect combination for the bedroom! I like to change my pillows often but when it comes to the fabric, I almost always stick to linen. I have had my eye on a particular design of pillowcases on Ellos Home for some time now and when they arrived on Friday I was so glad to see they fit with my plan perfectly. The pillowcases Putevar Candra in washed linen come in many different combinations, but I chose a plain white/silver so it would pop out against with my beige duvet covers and the rest the pillows. As the weather gets warmer I find that linen is perfect to sleep on, so all my bed covers are in linen as well by choice. My duvet covers are the Sengesett Candice in washed linen  (color beige), while the ice blue/white blanket is the Pledd Hannelin in washed linen (color grey-blue) also from Ellos home. And with this change of color, I am happy until summer!

Bedroom Update

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with Ellos. All opinions are my own.

I have been wondering what to put on the other side of the bed for a long time now ( you can see my side here ) as up until this point it was actually empty. Due to the bed taking a lot of room and its alignment under the window , this side has very little space as it is and I did not want to overwhelm it. I found that the best solution was to mount a lamp on the wall directly above the shelf, this way there is still just as much space as before for everything else I might want to include! I found my lamp on Ellos Home , it is the K-Fab Vegglampe Dexter and I combined it with an Edison type bulb the Led lyspære 64 mm that emits a soft  yellowish light. I hid the long wire behind some books and with the addition of a pilea on a stool and some books, this corner is now finally looking exactly as I had in my mind. The lamp can easily move from side to side completely which makes it ideal for this corner of my bedroom. I really like how a small addition can change a corner completely and this one took me less than 15minutes to achieve (see how it looked before here). Ellos extensive lamp selection can be found at Ellos- Belysning while there is a special offer of 40% off the most expensive item during the whole weekend in your basket, if you want to make a similar change as I did now is a good chance!

Intimate Valentines Day

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with Ellos. All opinions are my own.

It is Valentines day today and even though I am not a super fan of the holiday, I am always up for a any excuse to make brownies and take out the new tableware and cutlery. While at the Oslo Design Fair I stopped by Bloomingville’s exhibition where immediately  a set of handmade ceramic tableware caught my eye. The line Sandrine (the plates and cups I used)  can be found at Ellos Home (among with an array of other Bloomingville designs) as well as the black cutlery I combined them with. I would have loved to get some anemones for the day (or any day as they are among my favorite flowers), however I did not find any so that tradition for the day will remain unfulfilled. There is plenty of chocolate though, a homemade brownie (I spoiled the surprise with the recipe in this post a few weeks ago ) and delicious chocolates from Chokladefabriken that I brought from Stockholm. We chose to spend the morning in bed, enjoying a cup of coffee after we prepared the brownies with the ice cream with chocolate upon chocolate. If anything, the day calls for it ;)

His…
And hers…

A good idea if you prefer enjoying a more toned down version of the day, is of course to light a candle or burn some incense. I bought a candle just for today while in Stockholm, and I avoided burning it until this very morning. This way it feels a little bit more special even if it something that can be done at any day of the week. I also bought the most beautiful brass incense holder , as seen below, but burning both can be overwhelming, so best to chose either one or the other.

Signs of Spring in the Living room

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with Ellos. All opinions are my own.
Even though spring is far away for now, especially in Scandinavia, I think after Christmas holidays are over, we all long for warmer weather and the first signs of green. A good tip for those that cannot wait is to start introducing more greens in the house, add textiles that remind of Spring in light colors, new cushion covers or even a light colored carpet. In collaboration with Ellos Home I styled my living room with some fabrics and some greens to serve as an example for anyone that wants to bring some Spring feelings in their house, do read on for more details and tips!

One of the first things I did was to get some extra linen pillowcases. My sofa is getting really old now and I don’t like how it looks, but with new pillowcases and a throw or two it looks as good as new! I decided to also add a carpet underneath so it can provide with some definition of the area. I really like how it softens the dark color of the floorboards, but also it makes for a great place to sit on since it is so soft and cozy.
When it comes to greens, my tip would be to choose plants that look great on the floor. My Monstera Deliciosa is big enough now to stand on its own but I decided to put some magazines under to give it a little bit more visibility. A simple Pilea Peperomioides is all I need for my table (which is filled with magazines and books), but if I had the luxury of fresh flowers I think a vase would also look quite nice and fit perfectly.

All products I used can be found at Ellos Home :

The softest throw from Himla in Gråblå color –  Pledd Hannelin i vasket hellin 130×170 cm
Linen pillows from Himla various colors –  Pute Hannelin 50×50
Fluffy cozy carpet from Ellos Home –  Ryeteppe Tanger 160×230 cm

//Photography and Styling by Katerina Dima
I am also thinking some new curtains could complete the look, if you are missing curtains as well Ellos offers 25% off to all of their curtain selection!

Terracota pots in the kitchen

Today Stilleben is opening their second Copenhagen store No22 at Frederiksborggade 22. I wish I could attend and usually I travel a lot to Copenhagen so I try to fit such events in my calendar, but the next few weeks are going to be very busy with travelling already for design fairs and press launches in Oslo and Stockholm. However, I will definitely be stopping by next time I am around, Ditte Reckweg and Jelena Schou Nordentoft that are behind the Stilleben concept stores are also the designers of the Edge pot for Skagerak as seen in my kitchen in this post. I really love the design and the natural terracotta colors, and while the pots come with their own drain system making them stand out from other pots, I also use them as storage vases for my kitchen utensils. Tip of the day!

Libratone Zipp Copenhagen Mini : Luxurious Sound

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with Libratone. All opinions are my own.
Christmas is just around the corner and some preparations are in order. Baking some traditional cakes, preparing gløgg, the house smells like gingerbread cookies, anise and orange zest. Christmas tunes are as necessary in the house as cinnamon or cloves to holiday dishes, and I have been meticulously adding new ones to my Christmas spotify list ever since last year (the list can be found here).  I have been carrying around my Libratone Zipp Copenhagen Mini everywhere I go in the house, it is so easy to stream music from Spotify it is practically playing holiday tunes all day long while I am busy with Christmas preparations. While I move around the house,I usually end up carrying it around with me, from the bedroom to the kitchen and back at the office, it is always a great companion for music lovers , even more when the season is calling for all day music binging.

Have you noticed I have changed its cover from grey to blue? ( You can see it in grey along with the bigger version of the Libratone Zipp Copenhagen and a review in this post ).  It took me just a few seconds to zipp the grey one out and zipp the new one in and it really feels like it is a new speaker. I liked the cool wool blue cover better in this case since the Zipp Mini mostly spends its time in the bedroom, and since my newly renovated bedroom now is so grey it gives the space more personality when it comes to its details.

While in the bedroom I usually listen to music when I am getting ready, I almost always end up carrying it with me when I want to work by my office desk. It wirelessly connects however you want: WiFi (longest range and highest music quality), Bluetooth (stream from any device, anywhere), Airplay (iOS) etc so it is easy to play music from your phone but just as easy to pair it with your laptop. No excuse to work silently :)
In the bedroom, at the office, in the kitchen or in the living room, the Libratone Zipp Copenhagen Mini makes for a great companion if you enjoy music as much as do.
Christmas Gift tip :  If you are still indecisive when it comes to a christmas gift for a loved one or for yourself, the Zipp mini is a great idea and you can still order it in time for Christmas as late as the 22nd of December ;)

Christmas Gift ideas : Daniel Wellington Classic Black collection.

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with Daniel Wellington. All opinions are my own.

A few weeks ago Daniel Wellington launched their new collection of their much anticipated new Classic Black watches and Classic Cuff line. If you want to read more about it (and see more photos of the colors and new accessories you can visit my post Getting ready with Daniel Wellington). The new look is very elegant and timeless, it makes for a great Christmas gift for a loved one especially when accompanied with the new cuffs. I have packaged 3 combinations already for my close family as gifts, some in silver and some in the classic rosegold variation, with different straps to fit each personality. Scroll down for more photos, some Christmas wrapping ideas for a small package and I am also glad to share a discount code that you can find at the end of this post if you want to order one for yourself or as a gift!

When it comes to wrapping presents this year I have completely embraced the Scandinavian way ( can see more photos in this post), so all my presents are wrapped in simple recycled brown paper, wrapped with ribbons, twine and decorated with leaves and branches. While for all the other presents I used branches of cotton and fresh eucalyptus, for the packages with the watches I decided to go with more classic Christmas decorations of some spruce and rose hips from our backyard, along with thin black ribbon and white/black twine. Classic Green Christmas decorations with black accents for the Classic black new watch line, it made perfect sense to me.

My favorite combination of strap for the new watch has to be the Classic Durham . The tan colored leather strap feels instantly like it belongs to its new owner due to its predisposition to get patinated very fast. I love the look that is created merely moments after it is worn for the first time and I cannot wait to see how it will look after a few months of wear.

//Photography and Styling by Katerina Dima
As mentioned in the beginning of this post, I am happy to share a code with you towards any purchase of any watch or accessory from all the Daniel Wellington collection including the new Classic Black and Classic Cuff line. The Classic Black is so very special because the dial is black, I find it especially elegant and stylish, perfect for interior lovers.

Discount code love

Also a little tip, you can get Eurobonus flight points along with any purchase from the site ( for every watch I believe around 1000 points) which can be spend towards free flights and duty free goodies!

Styling tips for Early Christmas with Stelton

This year I started decorating for Christmas and wrapping my presents a little earlier than what is usual for Scandinavian countries yet I did not want the house to look too festive too early. I ended up buying a small cedar tree which was perfect for early decoration. Stelton’s Nordic ornaments  and  Tangle Christmas decorations made for perfect fit on the delicate looking tree that I chose to keep as simple as possible wrapping it in brown paper for a Scandinavian feel.
The Stelton Christmas line consists partly of the Nordic ornaments, designed by Nordentoft and Secher Kau , a hanging heart, angel and cone in minimal lines, made of brass and porcelain. The ornaments are very light as well, making it easy to hang on the trees willowy branches. The Christmas line also includes the Tangle decorations, designed by Halskov and Dalsgaard, hanging ornaments but also candleholders and vases. All shapes in the Nordic and Tangle carefully curated collection are redesigned classic Christmas silhouettes, angels, cones, hearts and stars, but with a contemporary twist.
My favorites from both lines are the brass angel from the Nordic ornaments and the Tangle star candle holder also in brass from the Tangle line. I paired them together for a simple windowsill decoration.

I chose to wrap the presents in the same brown paper as the sedertre, wrapping them with various ribbons and strings. I also added some moss in the cedars trees pot for a more natural feel. However I am thinking of adding some of the Stelton Nordic ornament line on the presents (instead of using branches) , this way whoever opens them will also get an ornament for next years Christmas. The ornaments can also be used as napkin holders or even just displayed on their own as I already demonstrated above, I am sure I will find more uses by the end of these holidays to share!

Libratone Zipp Copenhagen Edition

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with Libratone. All opinions are my own.
Music has always been essential to me, for any activity. While working, while training, in the car, travelling, it is is a big part of my everyday life. Finding the right speakers or headphones is quite important, I am looking for a combination of great design, great sound and utility and I am happy to have found everything I was looking and more in the new Libratone Zipp Copenhagen speakers. The speakers come in two sizes, in beautiful Danish design featuring interchangeable wool covers (just zipp one out and zipp the new one in), aluminum top and bottom,  and a black leather carrying handle. The sound is robust ( 360 degrees play), they connect via Bluetooth or your wireless network at home (streaming has never been easier) and with 10 hours of play  time you can carry them around anywhere at home, so you can always have your favorite music with you. One of the advantages I found very useful, is the ability to connect any number of the Libratone Zipp Copenhagen  and Libratone Zipp Mini Copenhagen speakers together and create a soundspace, effectively setting your music free,  and enjoy it in every room, every space, every part of your life.
In other words, you get the freedom to place the speakers wherever you want and move them around in your home as you like. And due to the beautiful design and the fact that you change the cover of the speakers they can always be part of your interior at home. Both speakers make for a perfect Christmas present as well!

Everything mentioned above are things that make the Libratone Zipp Copenhagen speakers a great portable sound system, but I would also like to share my personal experience with them, as I have been using them for some time now.
Apart from the overall beautiful design and great sound, what I enjoy most is the freedom these speakers give me. I always keep one upstairs and one downstairs so they can be connected and I can still enjoy uninterrupted music when I move around. The sound is controlled from the touch pad on top, the controls are very intuitive, I literally feel I have all my music in my fingertips. A wonderful surprise feature lets you hash the sound for as long as you like by simply placing your hand on top of the speaker without having to interrupt what you are listening to while you need to momentarily focus somewhere else. In my personal experience, the touch pad is very responsive, and so far it has registered every tap with extreme ease.

I usually keep my Libratone Zipp Mini Copenhagen with me upstairs by my home office desk , although I will take it with me when I either move to the dining table where I work sometimes or when I sit by the couch in the living room. The dining room, living room and home office are all connected so I can also leave one Zipp Copenhagen in the middle of the area and all the space will be filled with music when I turn it on. Since the battery lasts for 10 hours I find I rarely charge it more than a few times per week, however when I need to the wire sits comfortably on the table held down by an aluminum anchor.

Whether you will be wrapping gifts, cooking in the kitchen, working on your laptop or any other activity at home this holidays, the Libratone Zipp Copenhagen speakers will be a perfect companion for any music lover, and a great gift for yourself or your loved ones!

Cooking with Eva Solo – Nordic Kitchen

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with Eva Solo. All opinions are my own.

Cooking is always so much more fun with tools that are practical but also look so good, you hardly want to put back in the drawer. I have enjoyed using the pots and pans from Eva Solo’s Nordic Kitchen for a while now, the set also includes beautiful oak cutting boards and knife stands. The pots and pans themselves are made of sturdy lightweight aluminium that resembles cast iron in feel and design but without the extra weight. They are so easy to lift even when they are full, it is a joy to use them for everyday cooking. I am a big fan of the wooden details in the handles and the lids too, the design is so very Nordic indeed that it justifies the name of the whole line.

I have combined the cookware with tableware from the Eva Solo Legio Nova line, I find the white plates and accessories with the subtle lining the perfect companion for dinner and coffee. The set is complete with plates, jugs, serving platters, bowls, cups, butter box, glasses and thermo mugs in two sizes ( my personal favorite), so there is no reason to mix and match unless you want to. I am missing some pieces still from the collection but I am happy to slowly add to it as new pieces come out as well.

Today I am cooking baked cauliflower in the oven and on the side I whipped a quick chocolate cake for dessert to enjoy while we drink our coffee ( kept warm in the new light grey Fridge Carafe ). I found the recipe for the Baked Cauliflower in a new cookbook called Gone Fishing by Mikkel Karstad , while the chocolate cake is an easy flour-less recipe that can be found at Martha Steward site. It always turns out so great, I highly recommend trying it at least once.

As a final note, I want to make a note on how sturdy the cookware line is which makes me very happy. There is nothing I dislike more than buying something I really love only for it to age badly with use. I have been using the pots and pans from the Nordic Kitchen for at least 3 months everyday, and they look every bit as new as when I took them out of the box. You can see all the news of Fall ’16 if you click here , the collection includes the Nordic Kitchen line as well as the Legio Nova tableware and the new Carafes and Coffee makers.

Winter Living Room Makeover

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with Ellos. All opinions are my own.
With the first snow falling, winter is officially here so I decided it was time for a living room makeover. Currently I love the feel of linens and marble combined with oak so I gravitated towards getting a few select pieces that would update my space without crowding it. All the additions are from Ellos, so they are very easy to find if you wish to easily replicate the look. Scroll down for tips and how I am using what I chose as seen above!

A while ago I mentioned I wanted to replace my sofa table (the previous can be seen here and usually appears in 2105 living room posts), and this was the perfect opportunity to do so. I chose the Sofabord Axx Stort , 75cm rectangular shape ,black metal frame with white marble top. I preferred it to be square and while usually most of similar style marble tables are 60cm wide, the one I chose is quite larger in both sides and it fits my big couch and my needs better. The marble top is quite beautiful  and everything seems to fit on top of it quite elegantly now.
Another tip when it comes to quick and budgeted makeovers is hidden in fabrics. From pillows, to throws or a carpet, you can change the look of a space in a matter of seconds without investing in any new furniture at all. Here I chose two linen blankets, one to serve as a throw ( Pledd Lilah) while the other ( Himla Pledd Levilin in silver grey color) to serve as a delicate carpet under the new table. In addition a simple belly basket can hold quite a lot of those extra blankets!

With the floor draped in blankets it is easier than ever to even sit down for a coffee and a magazine, something I have been indulging myself with a lot lately! I love the feel and look of linens to the point that I have slowly replaced all my blankets sheets and towels almost with them.

Posters are also an easy way to diversify the look of a plain wall (also easy solution is adding some wall lamps). I love graphic architectural drawings ( I can never escape my own profession) and the French poster Hotel des Ventes fit perfectly with my plans.

And there you have it! In 1-2-3 easy steps I overhauled my living room without committing to a renovation. Below you can find the links from Ellos for everything I mentioned above, if you wish to recreate my look or get something new for your own space. Next in line for a makeover is the bedroom , keep an eye for that post very soon!

Getting ready with Daniel Wellington Classic Black

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with Daniel Wellington. All opinions are my own.

Getting ready for a Sunday outing can be an either 2 hours process or it can take just a few minutes, depending on where I am going , how casual I am planning to dress or if it is a formal event. An accessory I cannot leave my home without is definitely a watch on my left wrist. Latest favorite comes from the new Classic Black collection by Daniel Wellington and their new Classic Cuff line. I shared how much I liked this design on my Octobers wishlist, and as soon as I got it I have not stopped wearing it. Scroll down for more photos from the bathroom around the sink area where I prefer to get ready and also for a small surprise at the end of the post and a tip frequent travellers like me will appreciate!

I really like the design of their new Classic Cuff line as well, in silver or rosegold, it is a really good companion to the watch or even alone. I have always been a fan of bracelets ( during summer I regularly buy various handmade leather ones from the street vendors in Monastiraki around the Plaka area in Athens), and I have to be honest these look great even on my bathrooms boudoir.

Now for the small surprise I promised in the beginning of the post, I am happy to share a code with you towards any purchase of any watch or accessory from all the Daniel Wellington collection including the new Classic Black and Classic Cuff line.
Use “Onlydecolove” for 15% off and free shipping wolrdwide until the 31rst of December.
Also a little tip, you can get Eurobonus flight points along with any purchase from the site ( for every watch I believe around 1000 points) which can be spend towards free flights and duty free goodies!

Dinner for 4 friends with Eva Solo

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with Eva Solo. All opinions are my own.
I often mention how Autumn is my favorite season, so when it came to styling my table for dinner for four of my closest friends, I immediately thought I should decorate for fall. Apples, cranberries and leaves from the trees create the perfect feeling along with a combination of an earthy menu. This was also a great opportunity to use my collection of Eva Solo Trio dinnerware, along with the new Fall 2016 additions of the beautiful line.
I was very happy to also have a full set of the In Between chairs I ordered, so I was only missing a centerpiece. Since the table’s width is very small, I decided to instead hang from the ceiling a big driftwood I had been saving for such an occasion. It took me less than 15 minutes to “dress” it with branches from a forest tree. I hang it from the ceiling with the same twine I used to attach the branches on the driftwood.

When it comes to my menu of choice, I decided it should be simple and earthy. Mushrooms are the perfect fall companion and a simple cod main dish would give me the earthiness I had in mind.

Menu :
Chanterelle Mushrooms and Rodrigo-Style Cod.

For the mushroom dish, I simply sauteed chanterelle , I drizzled some lemon on top and served in one of my favorite bowls from Eva Solo Trio with some black sea salt. ( I usually cook and eat this for lunch during Autumn, as you can see in my Mushroom Season post ).

For the Rodrigo style Cod, I borrowed the recipe from Pati Jinich, I heartily recommend it, it is simple, quick and easy, yet delicious dish!

My centerpiece decoration had to go unfortunately soon after everyone was gone (the branches will wither rather quickly), but everything looked great while me and my friends enjoyed a fall inspired dinner. The Eva Solo dinnerware fitted perfectly with the theme, the design lines of the Trio line elevated the look and complemented my table.
Overall I was very happy with how the evening went, and I am already planning a similar table theme but for Christmas this time around!

Moments with Stelton : Enjoying an afternoon coffee with friends or alone

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with Stelton. All opinions are my own.
There are moments you want to share with friends and moments you enjoy alone. For the midsummer afternoon coffee I prepared the table with a variety of warm tea and coffee, milk on the side, fruits and dessert, and added flowers to brighten the mood since it has been raining non stop for all week. With the temperature a little lower, everyone is sure to enjoy warm coffee and tea, and the new lavender color of the Stelton EM77 vaccum jug fitted perfectly with the fresh peonies on the table and the mood I wanted to convey. I brought the electric kettle straight from the kitchen so it would be easier to poor hot water for our teas, the sleek design blends perfectly with the table styling. All in all, it was a beautiful afternoon and the rain didn’t bother us at all!
When not with friends however I enjoy my moments alone just as well. With a full EM77 with coffee or chocolate, some chocolate bonbons on the side, I can spend countless afternoons either perusing magazines or working late. I find tending to small details always lifts up my mood, so when I discovered the new Peak brass bonbonniere from Stelton I was more than happy to fill it upwith bonbons and make it a permanent addition on my coffee table.

For more Stelton moments with the EM77 vacuum jug, the peak bonbonniere, the Emma electric kettle and the Emma tableware, feel free to check Stelton instagram account at Stelton Design.

Home office organization with 3M

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with 3M®. All opinions are my own.

I have always been a very organized person, I find that regardless of what work you do,your efficiency grows tenfold in you keep an organized space but most importantly, an organized journal/calendar.And even though we are swarmed with technology (I keep online photos, screenshots, etc), writing on paper has always been my preferred method of keeping track of my professional but also personal life. 3M and their sticky notes have a permanent spot on my home office(taking notes, using as bookmarks etc) so I was really excited to see their news including not only new colors and shapes, but XL sizes as well. As you can see from above, the XXXL notes have taken a permanent place on the side of my Macbook. The size is perfect for keeping quick notes or ideas that come to my mind without having to use 2 or 3(or even more) of the smaller sized ones that now are only used for single notes and reminders. If you sign up to 3M newsletter here (you only need a few seconds to fill in the form) you will be send a free sample as well, I am so confident you will love them as much as I do. All sizes come in two variations, with lines or without. Personally I prefer without but in more than few occasions lined ones have also been helpful so I always keep a few stacks of each in my drawers!

Design Letters : Sneak Peek

Travel and all expenses were covered by Design Letters.

A few days ago I attended a press conference at Copenhagen for Design Letters. If you have been following my blog for a while the brand needs no introduction , you have all seen various of their products in my house and on my instagram feed. From the mugs that are adorned with the famous Arne Jacobsen hand drawn font to their stationary , I don’t think I know anyone that doesn’t own at least one piece of their carefully curated collection. At the press conference however I was delighted to see reproductions of some of the less known Arne Jacobsen designs ( check back soon for a full preview ) but also some of the famous products that were designed exclusively for the SAS Royal Hotel. Today I am happy to share a sneak peek of the AJ Royal Vintage Vase in pale green (as seen above in the original size). You really need nothing more than that to adorn your window with a simple leaf in or a single flower stem. Arne Jacobsen designed this specifically for the hotel, bearing in mind apart from its impeccable design and style that it would also need to be viable as a decoration for the hotel rooms that needed to hold fresh flowers but in as little quantity as possible. Brilliant isn’t it? For my part I love the drop silhouette shape but also I think that the trend today is pushing towards the single flower stem rather than a whole bouquet. Who doesn’t have a single glass vase adorned with a leaf petal by their bedside?

New techie addition in the house

// Sponsored post in collaboration with Sony. All opinions are my own.

Some of you might have seen this already on my instagram or snapchat but a couple of weeks ago Sony send me a Bluetooth wireless speaker to try out. I already have a Bluetooth speaker I am extremely satisfied with but it was the Sony’s shape that won me over at first glance. It matches perfectly my interior and merges almost seamlessly with my styling at home. Perfect for the living room when I want to listen to my favorite tunes. The sound is quite large as well for such a small speaker and the battery holds for at least 10 hours, all in all, quite happy with my little new addition!

Get the look with ByLassen Frames, Normann Copenhagen minitature chairs and Skandinavisk mini candles.

February’s Favorites : Curated by Only Deco Love

I am always particularly indecisive as to when I should post my favorites. Should it be at the end of the month or its beginning? Is it a list of “would love to buy this month” therefore I will budget for it, or rather what I loved the month that passed?  Today the list represents both for the month February and the month March ,which is my birthday month so this might be a wishlist as well :) I have to say that every single piece from the photo above stands out to me, I would love any for my home! From top to bottom :
Rimm flowerpots from ByLassen
Tableware from Broste Copenhagen
Golden set of Cutlery from Bloomingville
Linen washed pillow from Village
Belly Basket from Bloomingville
Urna Vase from Marimekko

By Lassen News in my Living Room

// Sponsored post in collaboration with byLassen. All opinions are my own.

I have have had the By Lassen Frames (mine in light and dark grey color) for some time now, and I have wanted to make a post about them for a while. However I decided to paint a wall black and hang them there, and although the result in real life is great, unfortunately it just doesn’t photograph well at all. The wall is covered with a wallpaper that I painted over but it has a texture that reflects the light in the most unfaltering way when it comes to shooting it. You can see a preview on my instagram here, I love how this corner looks but I will need to remove the old wallpaper, and start over again. If you were wondering why until now I never revealed this project, now you know what happened.
It is a shame not to officially introduce them however, so until I remade their proper corner I moved some of them next to my couch for extra storage and some downstairs as bedside tables. They looked so great however that I decided to leave them there and instead invest in a Twin Bookcase , I think it will fit perfectly. But if I am painting the wall again, I have in mind an amazing blue that might be an ever better spring and summer choice. If you have any ideas feel free to share them in the comment section below!

Winter Cozyness from Type Hype, with love from Berlin

Ad // Sponsored post in collaboration with Type Hype Berlin. All opinions are my own.

A few weeks ago I introduced a collaboration with Type Hype on my Instagram , under the hashtag #typehypestories . Today you can see the whole collection and some extra ones I kept for this blogpost. The theme for my photos was Winter Cosyness, and with all the snow and cold that occurred during January and this month, I felt it was aptly chosen. I loved the pillows spelling the word COZY, and I cannot really have enough notebooks and designer gift tags. You will see some of their posters as well around my house in the future (some I have already posted on my instagram), it is really a store with many products that fit perfectly with my love for typography. If you want to read more about it I wrote earlier about it in this post, so feel free to take a look for more of their carefully curated collection.

Travel Diaries : Revisiting Hotel Olena ( Clarion Collection ) in Bergen

//Accommodation was provided by Clarion Collection Oleana.

When I travel I love revisiting places I have been before just as much as discovering new. I am sure many of you experience this for example with restaurants, how many times do we go to a restaurant wanting to try something new but end up getting what we had the previous time because it was just that good? With Oleana Hotel I get the same feeling, it is just one of those times I want to order exactly what I had last time in double portion. Before scrolling down this post feel free to also check my last post about Clarion Collection Hotel Oleana in Bergen for more photos and for more thoughts about my stay there!
My favorite room at Oleana Hotel has a magnificent view of Bergen. Every detail is picked carefully, from the tiles of the bathroom to the comfortable armchairs, although my absolute favorite place to be is in the great bathtub with a glass of wine watching the sun set over the city. I highly recommend buying bath bombs if you stay at Oleana, Galleriet one of the biggest malls, is only 5 minutes away with a huge selection. You won’t regret it!
While at Oleana make sure you take advantage of the many amenities and luxurious spaces where you can relax in between your outings. Here in the ground floor just beside the living room with the beautiful fireplace you can eat breakfast in the morning, have waffles for a snack during the afternoon and eat dinner at night. A complimentary light evening meal of soup, a healthy salad buffet, main course and dessert is prepared everyday. I love that the atmosphere is relaxed during this time, you can serve yourself and enjoy some quiet time while eating, then take your coffee at the lounge by the fireplace. Here I spend many afternoons with my Macbook while I make plans for later as I watch the sun set over beautiful Bergen.
Bergen is one of the most beautiful cities in Norway, and regardless of when you wish to visit, be it winter or summer, there is a plethora of things to do and see. If you are somewhere close around Scandinavia it is worth coming on a weekend for a two nights stay to enjoy everything the city has to offer. However you might want to bring your umbrella, nature loves Bergen so much it rains a lot to keep it as clean as possible :)

Normann Copenhagen HQ Visit

Travel and accommodation was sponsored by & Tradition and Normann Copenhagen.

Photos by Katerina Dima for Only Deco Love

During December I was lucky to be invited along with 7 other prestigious bloggers to a two day event in Copenhagen by and Tradition and Normann Copenhagen. You can see the results of the stylings in the and Tradition showroom here and today I finally got around to editing all the photos from the visit at the Normann Copenhagen HQ the second day of the event! It was quite amazing experience, I cannot thank enough everyone involved that made it happen. We arrived early at the Normann Copenhangen HQ were we met with the team behind the brand and quite a few of the designers. We spend the whole day with them, had brunch and talked about the new trends in design at the offices, we were given some insights on the designs of the key pieces of the Normann Copenhagen and before the day ended we left with our hands filled with Christmas presents. A perfect day! Above you can see some of the photos from the HQ and offices, the building is amazing enough on its own but its a dream walking in the store that is filled with everything from the brands range along with some other key products they curate. Again a big thank you to everyone, Paul , Vibe, Britt, Simon, Christian and Johanne I hope to meet you soon again!

Stelton Theo Stoneware – Slow Brewed Coffee methods

// Sponsored post in collaboration with Stelton.I was provided with the Theo Coffee set. All opinions are my own.

Have you tried slow brewed coffee? If you like coffee (and even if you don’t) , slow brewed coffee is something you must try once, you will be amazed by its taste and flavor. There are many ways to prepare a slow brew, all will create different flavor and feel depending on how you actually brew the coffee. I will not get into too much details but at the end it is a matter of preference of how much coffee oil you like your coffee to have and how clear you want your drink to be.
Less oil in the coffee results to a slightly more bitter taste but one that highlights the more subtle notes in it, the coffee is as clean as it can be. More oil in the coffee results in an earthier bolder flavored cup, this method will result to some residue in the coffee cup. The secret to different ways of brewing is based on what type of filter you  use so that leaves the choice of the vessel up to you in many ways. I was lucky to receive a Theo Stoneware slow brew coffee set from Stelton and I have been using it every day! I use standard Chemex filters for when I want my coffee to have less oils in it and Hario cloth filter for when I want it to have more oil. While the Chemex and Hario coffee brewers are lovely to look at on their own, I absolutely love the stoneware feel of the Theo by Stelton, plus the size of 600 ml is perfect for two people. It is neither too big nor too small, and it looks as great as it feels! I am running a giveaway on my Instagram for a set just as the one above and today is the last day to enter so feel free to click here if you have an instagram account to participate :)

Only Deco Loves : Constellation Cat Lamp from Wanderer Wanderer

// Sponsored content in collaboration with Wanderer Wanderer. All opinions are my own.

A few days ago I received this quirky bed light from Wanderer Wanderer, the Constellation Cat Night Lamp. I immediately put it on the shelf behind my bed, I really like the light it emits, soft yet strong enough to even read. Norway during winter, especially December and January has little daylight, so I am always trying to have lights in key positions around the house for when night comes. In the night this lamp creates the most beautiful patterns on the wall as well! In the bedroom I think something cozy and quirky works really well, what do you think?

Daniel Wellington Christmas gift wrapping

// Sponsored content in collaboration with Daniel Wellington. All opinions are my own.

So happy to finally be able to share some photos I took for Daniel Wellington recently as a collaboration for their Christmas gift wrapping. You can see more photos and also read the interview I gave here or simply by visiting their online Journal! The links are from the Norwegian store but don’t worry, the article is translated in 17 languages so you will be able to read it on your country’s store in any language you choose!
In Scandinavian countries, it is often that you will see presents being wrapped with simple brown paper and twine, however I always like to add a small detail on top for the final touch. Since the ribbon from Daniel Wellington wrapping was a beautiful red, I chose springs from evergreen to combine the colors we love for Christmas. To complement the composition I added white marble snowflakes to match the gift box. At the end I wanted the result to be minimal with natural tones yet sharp details that accentuate the beautiful Daniel Wellington design.
So what do you think? Do you like the final result?
To spread the holiday cheer, I’m giving you a 15% discount code off any Daniel Wellington watch, just use the code: onlydecolove at the checkout to redeem! Happy shopping!

Travel Diaries : Hotel Olena ( Clarion Collection ) in Bergen

//Accommodation was provided by Clarion Collection Oleana.
Flying back from Copenhagen I had planned to stay for a few days in beautiful Bergen, to visit family and friends but also for some meetings. I stayed at the Clarion Collection Hotel Oleana, a newly build hotel of only few months that combines luxury and coziness in a most remarkable way.

Hotel Oleana opened its doors this summer in a historic building in the very center of Bergen. Only minutes away from the central bus the train station and everything around, it makes for the perfect location if you visit Bergen for a weekend or more days than that. For a long or short stay, Hotel Oleana is making your accommodation as comfortable as possible. It was a home away from home for me, I would wake up and have breakfast, then shop, then return for some relaxation and waffles in the lounge of the hotel , then go out for a coffee or a movie with friends. At night there are sandwiches and salad bar, and also the chefs special which is a different meal every night along with a soup of the day, everything is included in the room rate. I find that people were more relaxed, as if eating at home, when afterwards they can sit and drink coffee and enjoy traditional desserts ( usually a selection of two every night). It is great to eat dinner like this then have your night free for drinks or party, I believe I ate there almost every single night.

You can take a longer walk if you wish to visit Bergen but everything you possibly need is a mere minutes away from your room. Coffee shops, restaurants, shops and malls, movie theaters, the very center of Bergen is at your feet. You can see the fish market at the distance when you walk out of the hotel and just around the corner you can take the Funicular that will take you up mount Fløien , one of the citys most scenic views, you don’t want to miss this! The ride on its own is amazing!

I ended up spending much more time than I thought in Hotel Oleana, mostly because of its luxurious and yet laid back atmosphere. My favorite spot was right at the lobby’s living room by the great velvet statement sofa by the fireplace. I would work on my macbook with a cup of coffee or gløgg enjoying cookies while the rest of the world went by, and even invited friends over to relax for a while before our night out.
I will be posting more about the beautiful Oleana so stay tuned for more photos and sneak peeks of my time there!
Thank you for having me Hotel Oleana, I will be sure to come back next time I am in Bergen!

& Tradition Styling Sesions

Travel and accommodation was sponsored by & Tradition and Normann Copenhagen.
A few days ago I and 7 other amazing ladies from Norway were invited to Copenhagen by & Tradition and Normann Copenhagen, to visit their headquarters and showrooms. We had an amazing time and I cannot thank enough everyone involved.I just got home from travelling however so I will talk more about both days we spend there separately in other posts, but today I got in my mail the results of our styling assignment in the & Tradition Head Quarters and I knew this should be my first post!  Above you can see my styling with the Fly table in black marble, the Hoof stool in black, the Milk lamp on the left, the new True color vases on the stairs and the Cloud two Seater Sofa. Scroll below for more styling from the rest of the fine ladies I was accompanied!
Lovely Elisabeth from Elisabeth Heier blog and Edina from Nordic Leaves , styled the Fly Sofa, chair and table to perfection. I loved that they used the architecture of the showroom to their advantage, the play between the composition and depth of field make for a stunning result.
Solveig from NiB created an amazing space by using old and new elements from the & Tradition catalog. It is the only composition shot from an angle, I love how this accentuates and the Cloud Three Seater Sofa! Beautifully done Solveig!
Beautiful Nina from Stylizimo and Therese from ThereseKnutsen.no worked at the front of the house and created a dining area using the In Between Table and chairs. The steel door was used as part of the styling and I think it really adds to the perspective!
Last but not least two of my favorite ladies, Linda from Hviit and Henriette from Designlykke created one of my favorite stylings for the day using the Mayor sofa. They improvised a lot with the props  (they hanged the light from the stairs) while I could see Linda carrying the mirror from the bathrooms to bring to the shoot. If that is not creativity and quick thinking I dont know what is :) Bravo ladies!
Stay tuned for my own photos from the trip and the surprise visit to Bergen afterwards!

Onlydecoloves : TYPE HYPE Berlin

// Sponsored content in collaboration with TYPE HYPE Berlin All opinions are my own.

// Photos and styling by the talentedSeraina Silja Hürlimann
There is something about typography that is really attractive to me so the stunning curated collection of typography based products by TYPE HYPE Berlin was bound to get my attention. TYPE HYPE Berlin online and on location shops carry a collection that is sure to catch any design lovers eye. From mugs to notebooks, posters or kitchen utensils or linens, their line consists of a variety of beautifully designed products in mainly white and black with gold accents. I really like the color combinations (there are also some greys , pale blues and pinks with some red or yellow hints mixed in and recently their Autumn line features even more subtle coloration) but what attracted me more was the attention to detail and the overall style. From their bags and leather goods from soft cowhide that are beautifully hand sewn to all their porcelain line of kitchen goods, all products are bound to satisfy all your typography cravings and then some. However what makes TYPE HYPE Berlin truly unique is that shopping from their store is an experience on its own, from the culinary goods that are on the shelves to the milk bar you can visit for organic milk and coffee. I am looking forward to visiting as soon as I fly to Berlin next time!
Tip: Make sure to check their amazing Christmas collection here!

My new Espresso Machine : Saeco Poemia by Philips

Photos and Styling by : Katerina Dima

If you have been following my blog for a while then you already know that I have a healthy obsession with my coffee corners (as you can see here or here). The only coffee machine missing from our collection was an espresso one and I am very glad I got to try the Saeco Poemia by Philips! As you can see from above it is a manual espresso  machine with a steam wand. I have to be honest, I am not the biggest coffee lover so I was more excited about getting my proper steamed milk in the morning! I was pleasantly surprised when I made my first cappuccino however, when I realized that my new espresso machine was capable of the most delicious coffee, exactly as I would order it from Starbucks! I made my coffee by grinding beans but you can also use  E.S.E espresso pods. And while of course when you buy an espresso machine you are mostly interested in making good coffee ( this one has passed my test) , lets take a moment and look at the beautiful almost rose gold details. It was love at first sight for me and it has everyone on my instagram (here too)enchanted as well. We have been using it everyday (multiple times) so you will be seeing more of it in the future. Stay tuned!

By Lassen Kubus line

Photos and Styling by : Katerina Dima

By Lassen is one of the brands that Scandinavian people cant get enough of and for good reason. Some of my favourite pieces from by Lassen come from the Kubus series.  The beautiful and sleek candleholders (Kubus4 in black as seen above) and the Kubus bowl (in grey size small on my table) make for a perfect pair and you will often see them paired together in my home. Since winter is right around the corner , the days have become so much shorter and candles are a must in our house. Not just for the extra light but for the cozy feeling they give out! The Kubus4 is perfect since it holds 4 long candles and it is also so easy to move! Secretly I cant wait till the bedroom is done and I can prop it near the bed for those extra cuddly nights around the holidays!

Only Deco Loves : Larsson and Jennings

Photos and Styling by : Katerina Dima

If you have been following me for a while you must know I love watches. In a world where we rely on our phones and tablets for everything I love wearing a watch and writing down my everyday schedule in my many notebooks. While we don’t necessarily need watches to know what time it is, nobody can deny that a watch has always been a great accessory , one that even when its main purpose is fulfilled by myriad of other devices , its presence is still as necessary as ever at least to me. When it comes to Larsson and Jennings , an Anglo Swedish brand that is synonymous with British aesthetic and Swedish minimalistic design, their Swiss-made luxury watches take design inspiration from their Swedish and British roots combining both for a modern but classic timeless style. The watch I chose to wear this winter as seen above ( LÄDER | MÖRKT ) cannot be more classic with its black grained British leather strap and white brass dials. There are many more straps to choose from and styles so if you are also enchanted with Larsson and Jennings as I am you can check their online store for more combinations. As for me,I have also fallen in love with the grey strap and I am really looking forward to visiting their London store with my L&J on wrist and try it on!

Only Deco Love loves : Philips Sonicare Diamond Clean Electric Toothbrushes Part 2

Photos and Styling by : Katerina Dima

A few weeks ago I posted about the new Philips Sonicare Diamond Clean electric toothbrushes I received from Philips.  You can read all about them and my review here while today I will not be reviewing the products I will only be presenting them. I was lucky to try all 4 of their colors ( purple is a brand new one!), style and photograph them for a project for Philips and today I can finally show you the result! I chose a different setting than usual, a soft pale nude pink on the wall along with natural wood planks and wooden and brass details that complement perfectly all the colors of the toothbrushes when used together. If you live in the Nordics, Philips is teaming up with SB12 for a powerful toothpaste with strong mint aroma and L’Occitane with a delicate aromatic candle to bring you a complete package of bathroom care.I always light up a candle when I start my morning routine in the bathroom, it provides with a soothing feeling that makes for a perfect start of the day!
I will leave you with a gif I created for fun with a little bit of an illumination play based on the program settings of the toothbrushes, I hope you enjoy it!

Eva Solo Part I : Color Granite Green

Photos and Styling by : Katerina Dima

I am honored to be able to work with Danish brand Eva Solo, styling some of their Automn/Winter 2015 line of products in my own home. Normally I love white and grey tones but Eva Solo unveiled some truly beautiful winter color tones I just love seeing in my home as accents.  The colors, Moonlight Blue and Granite Green complement perfectly every winter dinner or coffee table, while if you look at the store you will also find some of your favorite products in copper as well. I like how the colors are expanded in their whole collection, from bottles to carafes to almost all accessories. I know a lot of people love to color coordinate their kitchen utensils and Eva Solo has now made it easier than ever. While having a singular color theme is great, try color blocking with various products next time, you will be surprised at how beautifully all the colors match together!
Today I used Granite Green products for an afternoon tea table styling for Eva Solo, I love how the earthly tone matches the mood with their new white ceramics line Eva Trio Legio Nova juxtaposed to some of the wooden and cork accent accessories I love to use lately. I will be creating a Moonlight Blue setting as well in Part II so keep an eye for that one in a few days if you are undecided between the two colors!
Links for the products from Eva Solo appearing on my tea table setting today can be found below.

Only Deco Love loves : Philips Sonicare Diamond Clean Electric Toothbrushes

A couple of weeks ago I was lucky to receive the Philips new Sonicare Diamond Clean toothbrushes. The models I am using are the White the Black Diamond Clean Whiten Teeth. I was immediately captivated by the fact they use sonic technology to brush rather than spinning  or rotating movement of the head. When it comes to teeth care, their many programs ( Clean,Polish,Whiten,Gum Care,Sensitive) make sure that I have a cycle that will cover all my needs depending on how I want to care for my teeth, while the automatic sensor will let me know when I need to change sides or when the cycle is over. I have always suffered from mild bleeding with other toothbrushes but this hasn’t occurred while I have been using my Diamond Clean since I only need to touch my teeth with the brush and the diamond shaped bristles with sonic technology will do the rest.

While effectively cleaning my teeth is my primary concern when it comes to toothbrushes, design is also quite important to me. The sleek and minimalistic design of the Philips  Diamond Clean is impeccable, there are no spare parts showing other than the touch button to change between cleaning programs. The handle will light up with the various choices as long as it is operating and slowly fade away after a few seconds of any program cycle finishing. The battery will hold for approximately 3 weeks depending on the use and when you need to recharge it you simply need to place the toothbrush in the glass provided that is its charging station. I have to admit I found that incredibly useful and it looks great on my bathroom shelf as well.

Another major plus for me is that each toothbrush comes in its own carrying travel case. While this is something I appreciate as I like keeping my toothbrush separated from my cosmetics what sets this apart is that the case itself serves as a charging station. There are different cables that allow you to charge from either directly from a wall socket but also from any USB from your PC.If you are leaving for more than 3 weeks holidays this will be incredibly useful. Not to mention, it does this in impeccable style.I do not know for what more to ask of my toothbrush.

Handmade Curved Rustic Art from Skull Bliss

Images by Katerina Dima

Scandinavian styling has used animal imagery quite extensively, especially deer and sheep. It is hard to find a house without at least one sheepskin draping a chair or a sofa and further more, a cabin on the mountain without a deer skull on the door. However skull decorating is not just a Scandinavian styling choice, in fact in many other parts of the world skull carving is considered an art. In Bali , skull master carvers transform bones into an outstanding piece of craftsmanship. As part of their artistic and cultural heritage, the art of carving or sculpting bone has always been an authentic Balinese tradition. Skull Bliss is bringing a variety of artfully carved skulls directly from Bali, all exclusively cruelty-free. They are great as statement pieces on their own but they also match beautifully either a rustic styled space or even a completely modern one. They can be used indoors as well as outdoors, they are bound to catch your eye with their intriguing design , mesmerizing symbols and tribal ornaments that are carved on them. Visit Skull Bliss if you would like to see more designs and their provided selection of cow, buffalo, ram and horse skulls.

Groovy Magnets

Images by Katerina Dima

By now you already know I love Pinterest (you can  find my pins and boards here) and that creating mood boards is one of my favorite things to do. I have been using tape tor clips to combine papers and objects together on the wall but I think I found the solution that fits me perfectly! Using magnets to tie things together should have been an obvious choice but a lot of times the design is disappointing. I was so happy to discover Groovy Magnets offered a great selection of both magnets as magnetic wallpaper solutions! From chalkboard finish to animal patterns (you can even get an empty one that you can paint to match your wall perfectly) , there is nothing other than your imagination stopping you from creating the perfect mood board or just a cozy corner. I chose golden magnetic numbers and black magnetic alphabet letters and I cannot wait to start using them. They look great on the wall or the fridge or anywhere else you might want to use them but also they can be used on their own as a statement on the wall or coffee table or anywhere else!

By Lassen with Love

Lately I have been so busy I have not been able to share the exciting news that I have become a by Lassen ambassador! It is such a great honor to collaborate with such a prestigious and well known brand in the design world, I only hope I can convey through the next months my love for their design adequately. I already own quite a few pieces from by Lassen namely their beautiful Kubus4 in black candle holder that I am sure you have seen featured so many times in my photos. Here here or here  you can see it perched on my coffee table in the living room, I think it makes for a perfect fit in my minimalistic scandinavian living room! Today I will be spending the day transforming a corner of my living room with few select pieces from the by Lassen collection but I couldn’t resist giving you a little sneak peek of the project while in the making! I selected 3 Frame35 incl doors (colors light grey and dark grey ) to use as an extended sideboard set side by side. I will be also using a Kubus bowl in grey as a way to store small objects I use everyday. Stay tuned for the rest of the transformation, it wont be long! :)
