THROWBACK TO IBIZA WITH GIN MARE

One of the best travels (if not the best) was definitely my trip to Ibiza last September with Gin Mare and a group of fellow Dutch influencers. You […]

Summer With Calvin

Your love affair with Calvin Klein may have started with a well cut denim clad Justin Beiber artfully intertwined with super babe Lara Stone for the 2015 #mycalvins campaign, or perhaps a 15 year old Brooke Shields wrapped in her Calvins during the early 1980’s, but for me the most iconic moment was the 1992 imagery featuring a […]

beat the heat

Summer weather is inevitable. Although I’m not switching to little tank dresses and short short just yet, I am taking into account the warmer months ahead while shopping. I bought this little button up tee blouse from All Saints last summer and have to admit that it’s one of the most worn tops in my closet since then. The roomier fit let’s you keep things breezy May through September with minimal sweat stains. I also love that it can easily be dressed down for daytime or zooshed up for dinner. #rimaroma part due

Oh hey, remember when I went to Rome last month? Here’s another outfit post from my trip. We just happened to visit during a (relatively) cooler week and missed the super hot temps. Low to mid 80’s all week meant I could get away with a denim jacket during the day. I loved this little dress from Aritzia as it fit loose throughout the body, keeping me cool. Both literally and figuratively. Paired with my sparkly Isabel Marant sneakers for major euro-tourist vibes. Can’t wait to go back!

sunny with a side of leather

I’m all about day to night dressing. And by “day to night,” I mean wearing the exact same outfit and throwing on a leather jacket. Who has time to go home and change?? LA summers are all about super hot days and (relatively) chilly evenings. The solution? Wear a light-weight tank during the day and keep a leather jacket in your trunk for dinner/drinks/night adventures. You’ll stay just warm enough and look hella cool after the sun goes down.

so it’s summer

Although I think I’ve expressed my distaste for summer dressing let me repeat myself. I actually hate dressing for summer. I feel most comfortable in skinny jeans, sweaters and ankle boots. Black on black on black is kind of my style mantra. Although I’ll usually take a little sweat action if it means I can wear my favorite pieces, this becomes a bit of an issue when it feels like mid 90’s in the sun and jeans just aren’t an option. I know these little denim skirts are v trendy right now but I couldn’t help myself. Its super cute and was only fifty bucks. I figured, if I can’t wear skinny jeans, at least I can sneak denim into my summer wardrobe in the form of a mini skirt that just happens to be the perfect rise to pair with cropped tops.

denim days

I love a good Canadian tuxedo. Maybe because I am from Toronto but most likely because it’s easy and looks hella cool. Rails is one of my favorite button down brands because every piece is super soft, especially this denim shirt. Although I’d normally pair this top with black skinnies (booooring, I know) I decided to get with the summer season and wear my trusty levis cutoffs. I found this vintage pair a while back in a pile of random sh*t at a yard sale. They fit a little big but I’m into it as it feels much more “cool-girl” than the levis booty shorts I’m starting to see again. Sun’s out doesn’t always have to mean buns out….

bum vibes

Major case of the Mondays calls for baggy bf jeans & a comfy sweater. I’ve been super into these destroyed boyfriend jeans. They have just the right amount of slouch and distressing. I paired them with this simple crop tank, black slides and THE comfiest knit cardigan. Yeah, I’m throwing major bum vibes but idgaf because this outfit makes me feel like the weekend never left.

blue jeans, white shirt

Well the up side to spraining my ankle on set Friday means I can finally get to the emails I’ve been lagging on and can also get some new posts up, being couch ridden is awesome! (that’s sarcasm, fyi) So as you can tell from instagram…I’ve been wearing a lot of black lately, BUT these reworked vintage levis by ReDone have got me back on blue. I love that they’re very stiff denim and are the perfect true-blue color. Kept it simple (duh) with a tee-blouse and sneaks cuz I like to pretend I’m a minimal-queen. Lol

the basics

Simpler is better, especially when it comes to summer dressing. I dread hot weather because I’m not the biggest fan of tank tops, shorts…not being able to wear black (the list goes on.) Although I use this rule everyday, “keep it simple” is the only way I can handle summer. Since I’m not the biggest fan of the standard summer uniform, I paired this lightweight cotton blouse with thin denim baggies for a cool and chic look. I know it almost errs on the side of boring, but it’s a total win when you can look chic (and feel comfortable) all day and well into a hot summer evening. What’s your summer go-to ootd??

desert rama

Oh haaaay. So I know coachella was a hot minute ago and that I’ve been slackin on the posts recently (sorry!) but here’s a little somethin somethin we shot in the desert during weekend one. I love this cool Iro Paris dress. The super simple cut and awesome laced neckline makes it the perfect one & done for summer day AND night partying. Paired it with a little leather backpack and ankle booties for casual (but still cool-girl) coachella vibes. More posts in the works and coming soon, I promise!

tropicál

Last weeks gloomy, overcast weather called for something a little different. And by different I mean this tropical wrap top, duh. Color? Floral? What? It’s not black and I weirdly love it. It makes me feel like I’m about jet off to Cabo for the weekend. Before you ask if I fell and hit my head…I didn’t go TOO crazy and paired the print with a simple, suede mini skirt and oxfords. Although I can’t say anything drastic will happen to my black wardrobe, I might just pop out this little top every once in a while when I’m in need of a mental vacation.

volcom coachella: take two

With coachella just around the corner and the summery weather setting in, it’s time for another  (and my final) festival-style look from my Volcom collaboration. Although this look is a little “every-female-at-coachella,” it’s perfect for the hot, desert heat. The last time I was at coachella, I’m pretty sure I ended up walking around in a bikini and trying to hit the indoor, air conditioned parties because it was that hot. I started with this pretty crochet one piece and threw on black, distressed short-shorts. Finished off with this open knit, fringy sweater and rad hat. Warning: side boob and major skin below (sorry)

rock & roll festival style with teva

I’m really getting into the festival spirit (clearly) with only a few weeks left before coachella weekend one craziness! So when Teva asked me to style a look inspired by my favorite genre of music, I said “hell yeah!” Can you tell what my inspo for this look was? Hint hint: all black, fringe perfect for jumping around/headbanging and a little edgy. Yup. Rock ‘n roll, baby! I choose the original sandal in this awesome snake skin print. An edgy update to the classic style. I paired the sandals with a black fringe dress and distressed denim jacket. Perfect for heading to the festival after sundown and rockin’ out super late. #ramadoescoachella

volcom coachella: look 1

When Volcom asked me to style two festival-inspired looks for Coachella, I’ll admit I was a little nervous. I’m not a big “boho” girl, but as soon as I saw these little denim short-alls, I was totally in. They’re perfect for running around the polo fields and look equally cute over a little crochet tank or  string bikini top. Coachella here I come! (maybe)

Literally squeezing every last playsuit look in before sweater-leather season hits. I may have actually come around to summer dressing this year, even if it was mostly *surprise* black. I underestimated how nice wearing something simple and skimpy, like this romper, would be. Added some (poser) tough girl vibes with my bad a** YSL boots and cinched the waist with a studded belt.
