Stockholm Furniture and Light Fair 2018

This year’s fair in Stockholm last week brought brands showing a lot of earth tones, rounded lines and not many slim lines. Other colors that were common were shades of purple, grey, yellow and lots of nude. As promised, Ulrika attended the event and s…

6 wall lamps for your bedside

To kick off the week, I’m sharing a few favorite wall lamps that would be ideal for a bedside or reading nook. Personally I’ve been looking for a lamp for my own side of the bed and there’s a good chance it will end up being one of these. I’m not too p…

On my travel list

11 Howard is one of those places on my travel list. I’ve seen dozens of photos of the interior but of course nothing compares with visiting in person. This bedroom feels polished but slightly softer than most hotels with all those &Tradition pieces.

Weekend inspiration from &Tradition

The concept and styling for this shoot by &Traditon looks like it came from at the pages of a fashion magazine rather than from a furniture company but that’s exactly what I love about it. The contrast from the bright camera lights and the outlining shadows it casts feels very modern and crisp.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

a warm, minimal hotel in Germany

To say I cannot wait to go back to Europe would be a gross understatement. We haven’t been on a trip for a while, though we’ve talked at length about whether we should go to LA or wait a bit longer and take the kids to Europe instead but part of me is ready to just jump in the car and drive any place, any getaway sounds great right now. It certainly doesn’t help when I see places like this hotel in Münster, Germany.
Even though it’s in Germany, there’s quite a few Danish pieces that compose the interior including Gubi’s beetle chair and lounge tables, Bellevue lamp designed by Arne Jacobsen and Panton’s flowerpot pendant lamp.
The colors in the hotel are very inviting, ranging from muted pinks to brown to gold, the overall look is very elegant but also very comforting together.

Moor rugs by All The Way To Paris

ATWTP‘s second design for &Traditon, these velvet-like wool rugs are the result of a focus on “shapes, colors and textures – without and patterns,” shares Tanja Vibe and Petra Olsson Gendt, Founders and Partners at ATWTP.

721 grams

A modular candleholder called 721 grams, which refers to the weight of each piece, was designed by Zurich based designer Isabell Gatzen for &Tradition. Made of heirloom quality materials like this hand polished brass, 721 can be assembled and reassembled in countless ways to make something unique and sculptural to fit different occasions from casual to formal.

bellevue

For some of you it might be a very solemn Monday, hearing that David Bowie passed yesterday definitely set in a quieter and sad mood. Certainly it is a great loss.

Changing directions a bit, this showed up in my inbox this morning. This being &Tradition‘s release of Arne Jacobsen’s Bellevue lamp in four new and contemporary colors.

this morning’s living room

The title just about sums it up, need I say more? Ok.I was taking advantage of Israel’s playdate at a friend’s house to clean the floors and noticed the light flooding in from the windows. Also, the living room wasn’t littered with stuffed animals and …

old photos of our home

I found a few random shots from our home sometime earlier this year in my archives. I miss this Summer light!
