Christophe Lemaire’s final collection for Hermès was simply stunning. Lemaire was clearly inspired by travel but not so much the private island holidays of the elite but that of the strong female adventurer. Models were enveloped in uwagi inspired coats, wrapped in rich ochre jackets and draped in snake-embossed buttermilk suede column dresses. A crisp white batiste shirt and poplin skirt were tied with a neutral sash. Desert coloured culottes and cropped navy trousers were worn with masculine snake-embossed jackets. The models walked along a pristine sand covered catwalk. It was an elegant and sophisticated farewell as Lemaire turns his focus to his eponymous label and Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski of The Row will take his place.
