The Hermès SS16 collection was up there among my favourites for the season. Designer Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski has created a sporty and elegant collection, there was a mix of simple short a-line dresses, midi wrap skirts and oversized trousers. Her time at The Row hasn’t gone unnoticed. The palette was fresh; pale cream and ivory with dark blue, crisp white with Yves Klein blue, a large grey check on a white base, and a pale terracotta stripe gave a military feel to several ivory pieces. The classic Hermès scarf made an appearance but not as you would expect, this time reworked as skirts and kaftans. The geometric prints looked very strong on the catwalk. Drop waist dresses were nipped in at the waist with simple belts. Shoes varied between colour coordinated trainers and mule heels with a pointed-toe and (in some cases) an ankle strap. The collection was feminine without being overtly sexual, make-up and hair complimented, kept natural and not showy.
