Let’s start with pointing out that basic isn’t simple, simple isn’t casual and casual isn’t basic. The differences between these terms, when it comes to fashion and style, and their application to wardrobe capsules are definitely growing to be some of the most interesting and complicated phases I’ve experienced!
Starting 2016 with this post, I’d like to mention that I don’t quite believe in resolutions and that’s why I am avoiding it. With that I actually mean become fit-read books-buy the gucci bag lists. I am just watching myself going through phases and evolving so much, that I feel that putting everything down, and literally on a piece of paper, would blind my occasional instincts.
On the other hand, wardrobe updates, foreign style doses, reflecting on my current aesthetics and the things I would like to let in, that I do. For those of you who, at that point, would like to know a bit more about me don’t hesitate to read my FARFETCH post, where I go into details.
I will never get tired mentioning how much I love bold details in basic pieces. That biker jacket from AINEA menswear instantly became my casual. A bit oversized, elegantly heavy, in soft grey and bold silver hardwear. Definitely one of my top favourite pieces of this season. AINEA brings a feminine strong touch to her collections, and I am an absolute admirer of the fur coats and signature horizontal stripes; however, almost randomly I happened to check out the menswear collection and fell in love with this jacket.
I ‘ve worn this combination way too many times. This HYPHENTHELABEL white top looks simply amazing under oversized sweaters, just a straight white zone showing, and in beautiful contrast with blacks and greys. And of course, my favourite L’INTERVALLE ankle boots and MOCKBERG timepiece for a silver finish!
Although it started as an awfully warm winter here [as you can understand from what I am wearing], temperatures now are almost proper! Had a wonderful New Year’s Eve and holidays. You are most welcome to add your christmas news and resolutions in the comments! Best wishes to everyone!
