This project was an experiment. A successful one. Not only because the final outcome seems aesthetically pleasing, to me at least, but also because we’d been discussing about creating something like this with @zansot for a while now. It’s not a super fancy editorial production, we just moved some furniture around, set our background and bought four or five pieces of coloured paper. And some wine.
VINTAGE CHECKED BLAZER | FUCHSIA PANTS, ZARA | CROSS BODY LEATHER BAG, CAIS | SILVER HOOPS
These fuchsia pants were definitely the perfect selection. I needed a colour to absorb and reflect the colourful lighting while adding interesting movement from every angle. Red would be too strong and it would weirdly merge with the red light and pink would be too weak, pale and dull.
As I’ve mentioned before, I like spotting trends, however it takes me some time [months] to really decide if I need them or not. Sometimes I just jump on it and purchase. To avoid decisions like these I try to wait a bit. So when I thought it was time for a checked blazer, my mom told me she already had two. Nice. In this project I combined two trends eventually.
However, this photo shoot taught me that budget or equipment aren’t always necessary. And if the lack of it ever seems as an excuse, I’ll remember the Neon Demon.
