4 For Fall
There are fewer things I love more than the arrival of Fall. My favorite season always promises the re-introduction of coats, knits and leathers. The chunkier, slouchier and oversized the better! These pair perfectly with lighter weight fabrics that are still lingering from Summer like subtle silks and shimmery satins, a layer combination that is a real appeal for me.
Wearing 4 key Fall looks I love here, Winter Whites, Tonal Neutrals, Navy and a nod to New York, with what else, but all-black-everything. Each look is clean and feels edited down even though I don’t hold back on the layers. For balance I stripped back the accessories, kept things minimal and focused on textures and tones, the best of what this season has to offer!
A staple for me, and the epitome of a subtle statement. The colors are muted and toned down, vibe is relaxed and low-key, but the look of layers in off-white and ivory are clearly high impact!
Camel, Brick, Beige, Tan, Cognac or Taupe…no matter what you call them, these neutral shades act as the perfect base foundation to Fall dressing.
While I dabble a little in navy in Spring and Summer, I tend to keep it strictly coastal with stripes and a nautical vibe. It’s the arrival of Fall and Winter when I choose solid navy pieces, steeped in rich textures – knits, pleats and wools. I love slight variations of this dark blue hue layered together for one all over navy look…and yes, I am one of those people that love navy and black together!
New York Noir
So, I’m certainly no stranger to black! I still defer to all-black, regardless of season. It will always remain a default hue for me anytime of the year. Why I love Black for Fall and Winter most however, is because the options in layers, textures and fabric combinations are endless.
