The Adam Lippes SS16 collection has brought fun to minimalism. Mixing gold lamé plissé with a grey 16-ply cashmere sweatshirt is my idea of glam. Throw a tuxedo into the mix and we’re really talking my language, Lippes has combined the masculine and the feminine to perfection. A wide-leg jumpsuit looks both comfortable and chic. A structureless pinafore dress with white cotton shirt looks a little incongruous but plays more on the comfortable nature of many of the pieces in the collection. A midi-length layered gold plissé skirt has been styled with a barely-there lace top and the aforementioned tux blazer which appears in size and length to have been borrowed from the boys. The collection is full of evening wear that doesn’t take itself too seriously. I’m a blue stripe shirt fiend and the mandarin collar tunic worn with a navy plissé skirt is stunning, with stripes on the bib running in various directions.
