There are only a few fabrics I get really excited about, a good quality silk, buttery soft leather, warm cosy cashmere, and then there’s denim, in all its many textures, washes & finishes. I think it might be the versatility of this fabric that keeps it constantly on my radar (and that of so many fashion designers). Whereas once only one style and one wash were ever in fashion at a time, now there’s a place in the market for every style and wash, from the darkest of indigos to the lightest of bleached denim, and from the skinniest drain pipe to the baggiest boyfriend. I love denim, I practically live in it, you’ll find me wearing at least one piece of denim, in one form or another, most days.

With this in mind, I’ve decided to create a series about denim, my ode to denim. I’m going to write about my favourite brands, I will do my best to help you understand the different types of denim, and all the various fits available, and I might even throw a little history in there too.
