AYR (which stands for all year round) design the sort of clothes I love and would happily live in. Central to their collection is denim; their skinny jeans hug in all the right places and their boyfriend jeans (The Slouchy) aren’t unpleasantly bulky like some I’ve seen and tried. Alongside denim is a perfectly edited mix of shirts, jumpers and outerwear, all designed to be worn with your favourite pair of jeans. You could wear one of their incredible coats over almost anything and feel like you’ve made just the right amount of effort. Searching through their website I kept thinking ‘I want that, and that, and that…’, there are far too many prize pieces so it’s hard to make a decision about what to order.
The team behind AYR are an exceptional bunch too, Brand Director Maggie Winter spent almost a decade merchandising at J.Crew, Design Director Jacqueline Cameron was previously Senior Denim Designer at Madewell. Of Cameron, Winter says, “With wash, Jac’s an artist, but with fit, she’s a surgeon…there is no better person for the job of creating a perfect pair of jeans”, and it would be hard to argue with this statement. AYR work with premium denim mills in L.A. to create jeans that are well constructed, give a good fit and help to create a flattering silhouette. Their jeans come in pleasing washes with cool names like Little Fishes and Dove Wings; personally, I’m really into the eponymous Ayr and La Brea Tar Pits.
I urge you to go and check out their website and more of their gorgeous clothes, if you click here you can get $20 off your first order.
