The A’ Design Awards aims to recognise and promote international design projects across the architecture, interiors and design industries, with categories ranging from Architecture, Building and Structure Design to Jewelry, Eyewear and Watch Design.
Further information on each of the categories is available on the awards website.
Entries must have been completed in the past 10 years and will be judged by an 83-member jury panel of various scholars, professionals and media members.
“The foundation of any good design award, in addition to fair evaluation and judging by an extensive methodology, is to have a strong and expert design competition jury which provides their invaluable knowledge base and insight to evaluate the submitted entries.” said the A’ Design Awards.
The winning projects will be judged and awarded Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Iron levels.
Prizes include a 3D-printed metal trophy, a physical exhibition slot at the Museum of Outstanding Design, an invitation to a networking gala in Italy and an IAD Prime Designer of the Year nomination.
Winning designers will also have their project description translated into over 20 languages, complimentary promotional campaigns, a lifelong licence to use the A’ Design Award Logo and inclusion in the yearbook of best designs as well the latest Designer Rankings.
Successful entries in previous years have included Pedevilla Architects’ pair of bright homes, which combine traditional elements with modern detailing in northern Italy and SOM’s Mumbai international airport terminal, which has a coffered concrete canopy.
I/O Architects’ Observation House in Bulgaria was amongst the winners of last year’s awards. The Bulgarian home is raised above fields on stone-filled cages to give it the appearance of an observation tower.
Other award-winning projects are a Japanese restaurant inspired by forest pathways and a sales centre with a fish-shaped green roof that forms a viewing platform.
