How to Wash Your Hair Sustainably

We all know the importance of sustainability by now. That’s what I hope, at least. That’s why I regularly discuss topics on how to live a more environmentally friendly lifestyle. Today I will go through some ways on how to wash your hair sustainably.

  1. Shampoo bars

I’m a huge fan of shampoo bar, because I feel like they deeply clean my hair, somehow better than regular shampoos. I also love the feeling of having something organic in my hands, instead of a plastic bottle. And that’s also the main reason why shampoo bars are more sustainable. One bar equals three bottles and goes along for about 80 times washing your hair. They also come for every hair type, even in an anti roos shampoo variant, and you can find them in different colors and smells. Yummy!

2. Wash your hair less

By washing your hair less, you also use less products that harm the environment. And besides that, you also keep your hair more healthy. Washing your hair a lot of times per week dries out your hair and scalp easily. Try to wash your hair only once a week, or max twice a week.

3. Make your own natural shampoo

Did you know you can easily make your own shampoo? You basically only need baking soda. Google for tutorials!

4. Eco-friendly beauty brands

Nowadays, there are many good eco-friendly beauty brands available. These brands make sure that they produce their products sustainably, and doesn’t give too much waste to the environment.
