Eat, Sleep, work repeat, eat, sleep work repeat… Welcome to Paris Fashion Week Autumn Winter 2018. For those not on the ground PFW looks like a magical fairy tale broken up with long lunches at insta-worthy restaurants and the kind of fashion shows that one would swap a kidney to attend.

Well let me clarify, and I can assure you that I will not burst your bubble, some of the above is true and some of that which goes on is never disclosed… haha, I’m sure that you would like to know more.. no? Private dinners with fashion designers behind velvet curtains in undisclosed locations, embargoed photo shoots with on-the-rise models under strict privacy clauses because they’ve been cherrypicked as next ‘big thing’. And although this season I cannot go so far as to give away all of the fashion industry’s secrets, I can share a snippet of my diary and what goes on behind closed (ah hem Maserati) doors.

That’s right, behind the fashionably sleek exterior of our trusty ride this season, the Maserati Levante, much of the daily runnings of Oracle Fox took place not in our usual HQ but on wheels. Not unlike most of the style set during fashion week, your vehicle of choice becomes your office en route, and we simply could not think of a better way to cruise around Parisian streets while transitioning from one outfit to the next, than this hot ticket.

With my ever ambiguous team of 3 on the ground with me (I see you in that coral coat Gabrielle), this season we captured a little bit more of the behind the scenes as to what we really get up to during our busiest time of the year. With a show list including Valentino, Chanel, Loewe, Miu Miu, Hermes, Cèline, Elie Saab and more, the schedule was jam packed, and that’s not even including our meetings, re-sees and photographic productions. And although attending the shows are at the top of most of the trend-set’s agenda, my personal highlights always include a sneaky trip to my favourite lunch spots Carrett in Place des Vosges (I seriously recommend the club sandwiches and of course the French Onion Soup is a winner) and if there’s time, a stroll along the River Seine on a Sunday afternoon to pick up a vintage French art book or two.

No matter how you look at it, Paris Fashion Week is the epitome of style even if does mean shlepping boxes of samples across a busy city, or late nights editing images from a hotel room. And, before you know it, the Spring Summer shows will be upon us at the speed of a high performance aesthetically pleasing vehicle.. fingers crossed it will be next season’s fashionably appropriate Maserati of choice .. x

A special thank you to Maserati Australia for our beautiful ride and to our favourite driver du jour Jean-Christophe.
