Let’s talk about new Polish brand, THISISNON!
THISISNON are not a trend-led brand, they focus on creating beautiful pieces that you want to wear everyday and then bring out again the following year to do all over again. Our constant need to buy something new may be creating jobs in far-flung places (and as we all know that’s not always a good thing) but does little for the environment and our resources. By investing in a timeless design that is beautifully constructed we may just be saving a little bit of the world we live in by investing in what we love.
Their silhouettes are well considered with few cuts and minimal stitching, just excellent tailoring. Minimalism is one word that cannot be avoided when discussing their designs. They do not use patterned fabrics or decorative closures but focus on the purity of the garment.
THISISNON‘s first collection (which was for Autumn/Winter 2014) was made entirely in black merino wool; the fabric looked rich and elegant with a beautiful sheen.
For Spring/Summer 2015 they’ve used raw silk in ecru. Once again they’ve displayed the fabrics beautiful natural qualities.
