Venue Hunting In Provence

We recently spent the most wonderful long weekend in Provence. Driving down from Calais we saw the countryside change from rolling fields of hay bales to forests, vineyards and châteaux. The temperature gently increased the further south we drove and the fragrant warm air alone told me I was no longer in England.

The reason for our short break in the South of France was to find a venue for our wedding next year. We decided to get married in the South of France as we both love the local food and wine, find the people endearing and the countryside like no where else on earth. The area holds many fond childhood memories for me and when my fiancé, Dan, suggested it I jumped at the idea. The trip was a resounding success, we viewed several incredible properties that each had their own charm and we also found ‘the one’!

We stayed in an exceptional chambres d’hôtes called Le Clos Marquise. Sylvie the owner treated us incredibly well with fantastic home cooked food, local wine, and a beautiful suite with our own private deck. The old farmhouse had been thoughtfully renovated with both traditional and modern decor meeting seamlessly. We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and will definitely be returning again soon.
